Aspiring Incitement: November 2008
http://goosebumpcity.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Occasionally Suggesting the Suggestable. Friday, November 14, 2008. I do not need a White person’s acceptance to validate me. I do not need Barack Obama, Oprah, Magic Johnson or Will Smith to inspire me. I do not need to hear the mind numbing opinions of those who do need these things. My distant West African ancestors are the bearers of one of the oldest civilizations on earth. With such an impressive background my worth is intrinsic. Every person, when asked about how they feel now that an African Amer...

The Sanford Police Department has a flyer they published titled " Safety at Home. Which offers tips on how its citizens can protect themselves from cases of Burglary. Lost in the Bozone: The Thousand Word Picture
http://thefilecabinet.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-thousand-word-picture.html
Sunday, January 11, 2015. The Thousand Word Picture. My wife posted the image to the left on her Facebook page minutes after the final play of Patriots/Ravens dust-up down to Gillette Stadium last night. No explanation, just the picture. No explanation was needed. All our fanatical Raven relatives and friends will get the point. Meanwhile Pats fans seemed subdued last week. Quietly Confident? One of the great games. On the edge or our seats until the last second. Sunday, January 11, 2015 11:49:00 AM.

Glad to be Home: November
http://gladtobehome.blogspot.com/2008/11/legend-lives-on-from-chippewa-on-down.html
Glad to be Home. Friday, November 21, 2008. The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down. Of the big lake they called Gitche Gumee. The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead. When the skies of November turn gloomy. With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more. Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty,. That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed. When the gales of November came early. There are few November songs more chilling than Gordon Lightfoot's Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Glad to be Home: Of Snowstorms and Earthrise
http://gladtobehome.blogspot.com/2008/12/of-snowstorms-and-earthrise.html
Glad to be Home. Monday, December 22, 2008. Of Snowstorms and Earthrise. Okay My last "storm" post. Here's a morning after pictures from uptown. Actually, they were taken mid-day. In other news, 40 years ago today the Apollo 8 spacecraft was on it's second day out from Earth, and about half-way to the moon. And sent back our first pictures of "Earthrise.". Has anything been the same since? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Qualities - communities - literacies. Best of Both Worlds.

Glad to be Home: July 2010
http://gladtobehome.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Glad to be Home. Monday, July 19, 2010. Woke up in the jungle bag, sun filtering past poorly hung curtains. Frosted flakes and seven-up for breakfast and somebody doing a bad Charlie Parker. Bear rose and had breakfast. Went out to work on his bike. Robbie took off downtown. I stayed. It's weird, sitting here warm and snug. Hard to remember Edey's off in some unknown country called "Alberta". Keep expecting him to crawl out of the shower and start tuning guitars. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Glad to be Home: October 2008
http://gladtobehome.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Glad to be Home. Friday, October 31, 2008. WKBW's Hallowe'en Show - 1968. Note: This is an automatic cross-post from my site at Multiply.com (more on that elsewhere).]. The first time I heard WKBW they were playing the Doors' album Weird scenes Inside The Goldmine. KBW ended as a top 40 rock station in 1988, when it adopted an all talk format. By that time - at least, in my perception - the ether was getting to crowded with ambient signals and white noise to allow my to enjoy far off stations. The last h...
