Odori Usagi: On Religion
http://tryntos.blogspot.com/p/on-religion.html
Tales of a supernova's daughter. Written October 13th, 2009. I despise the concept of religious belief systems in conflict with each other. I can't think of an analogy that even palely encompasses the wrongness of it. Allow a person or group of people to overpower others. Comfort those who require rules and rituals. Provide fellowship, community, connection. Give those who do not want to own their actions an external source of righteousness. Comfort those who fear what comes (or doesn't come) after life.

Odori Usagi: A Patchwork Life
http://tryntos.blogspot.com/2010/06/patchwork-life.html
Tales of a supernova's daughter. Saturday, June 19, 2010. Bread is kneading in the bread machine, I just had two pieces of homemade toast with blackberry jam for dinner, the laundry is getting done, the apartment is vacuumed, nonessential books have been sorted and boxed, items have been selected for donation, naps have been taken, fabric shops have been identified in Montreal, and. I made a patchwork pillow from some of my scraps! This is the envelope back. Working for a time is terrifying to me. Ho...

Odori Usagi: Goodbye, Robert
http://tryntos.blogspot.com/p/goodbye-robert.html
Tales of a supernova's daughter. Written May 11th, 2009. For many years, I've received regular messages from a restricted number. It first began when I was 19 and a sophomore in college, when I missed a call and was treated to a lengthy message from a fine fellow named Robert with a New Zealand accent, detailing the recent trip he took to Saint Kitts and Nevis in his yacht with his wife and another venerable couple. Tonight, I answered his call for the first time. He said, "Yes, Michael Morgan? I write m...

Odori Usagi: Do Kids Still Matter to Marriage?
http://tryntos.blogspot.com/2010/06/do-kids-still-matter-to-marriage.html
Tales of a supernova's daughter. Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Do Kids Still Matter to Marriage? In the New York Times highlighting a trend in the United States - people are marrying later, having children later, and having fewer children, thus spending less time parenting. Are children essential to a happy marriage? I laughed when I read a commenter's impassioned speech about the rapidly multiplying Muslim population and implication that Christians should be having children right and left. Really? How can tha...

Odori Usagi: My 600th Post
http://tryntos.blogspot.com/2010/06/my-600th-post.html
Tales of a supernova's daughter. Sunday, June 13, 2010. Our first attempt at yeasted pizza dough - we call this a Pizza Puff. Me, sitting at the Bosendorfer after my recital last night. Because I lacerated my cornea on Thursday! The glasses distort my vision a lot, which meant a day of vertigo; it didn't help the creative page turns at all. I blame some of my technical problems on the glasses. Now I can sew again! Next projects - cloth napkins and handtowels! What music did you play? Stuck in the box].

Odori Usagi: Needs vs. Wants
http://tryntos.blogspot.com/2010/06/needs-vs-wants.html
Tales of a supernova's daughter. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Needs vs. Wants. On Monday at a training seminar offered by my workplace, we were given time to think about and write down our expecations for work and for our lives. I have a hard time nailing down exactly what I expect to do in my career, and even what I want to do, because I would pretty much love to do anything if:. I get to write. What do I need to do in order feel fulfilled in life? I need time to reflect. I need to pursue a lifestyle that ...

Odori Usagi: Pitfalls of Self-Overreliance
http://tryntos.blogspot.com/2010/06/pitfalls-of-self-overreliance.html
Tales of a supernova's daughter. Friday, June 18, 2010. The problem with always relying on myself is that I don't give myself a chance to bond with anybody. Usually, I'm totally okay with that. Just peachy, even. I am thoroughly a loner and comfortable in my own company. Except when it looks weird to be so not wanted by anybody else. In those cases, it's kind of embarrassing. Luckily, Caspian has enough close buddies for the both of us, and the crowd won't be too thin. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Odori Usagi: Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
http://tryntos.blogspot.com/2010/06/ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.html
Tales of a supernova's daughter. Monday, June 21, 2010. I've felt like it's time to move on for several months. I tried to start another, more private blog, but maintaining two was too much of a hassle and it kind of fizzled out. Since I'm moving, life is different, I'm married now, a new language is in my future and circumstances are changing, it would be nice to start anew. Still, it's not where you belong anymore. Odori Usagi: The Ghost House
http://tryntos.blogspot.com/p/ghost-house.html
Tales of a supernova's daughter. Written October 5th, 2008. We came upon an older house in a state of bad disrepair. It looked to be abandoned, so I decided to enter and explore it. Others on the team thought it was a bad idea, but I was feeling reckless and tired - and perhaps a little bit self-destructive. I went inside. I wanted to sleep there. I turned around, and he was gone. I walked down the hall a little ways, and opened other doors. There were other bedrooms and attics and closets and sinist...

Tales of a supernova's daughter. Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Adult-centric Marriage in the United States. Here is the original report. Regarding the American trend towards adult-centric marriage. It's a quandary, that's for sure. A hundred reasons why Caspian and I should be citizens of another nation (Europe? Before considering the possibility of parenthood.
