Bomana Nights: July 2005
http://bomana.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 28, 2005. Thanksgiving for Helen Beatrice Clark. Today was the thanksgiving service and funeral for our beloved Nan. It was a beautiful sunny day, and although it was incredibly sad, it was lovely to see so many of her friends and extended family coming to say their goodbyes, and to be with us and share our grief but also our pride and gratitude for the years we had with her. But looking at that decision now, and knowing what I've lost by being there rather than here. I don’t think so!

Bomana Nights: January 2005

Thursday, January 27, 2005. Happy Birthday Cheeky Monkey! A very happy 84th birthday to my amazing grandmother who leads the pack in terms of spirit, determination and cheekiness. No doubt about the women in my family, or where we get it from. Posted by Ms Bomana @ 11:10 pm. Lady Clark (the ammended version). Nan, Lin and Marg, dropping in for a latte in Manly. We went in December - one of Nan's longest drives since her stroke - not that we let her at the wheel! Posted by Ms Bomana @ 10:20 pm. View my co...

Tuesday, November 30, 2004. Village on the water (taken on our first week in Moresby, back in January). Posted by Ms Bomana @ 9:33 pm. Hanuabada (village on the water). It’s the home of four of my Grade 9 girls, who are all cousins. Idau is my 9P class captain, and Silona Ani is in my 9Y class. The other 2 girls (Bele and Edea) are in 9W, and I teach them Library once a week. So it was very exciting to plan this visit with them my first trip to a village, my first visit with students. Love you always Pop.

Bomana Nights: June 2005
http://bomana.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 30, 2005. It's a bummer, because by the time he gets here tomorrow, the girls will have packed up and gone home for holidays. So much for judging the marching girls. Looks like I'll have to do that job on my own. Ah well, Tufi awaits and maybe I'll organise to meet up with the girls at the Botanical Gardens sometime next week. It's not every day they get to meet an extremely tall, so-white-he's-blue guy, and I'd hate for him to come all this way and not see the reason I'm here. I thought i...

Bomana Nights: April 2005
http://bomana.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 25, 2005. Dawn Service at the Bomana War Cemetery. Changing into the realization that of course this service would be close to my heart, and maybe for once it was a case of them coming with me, not me accompanying them. As with last year, the laying of the wreaths and the speeches from the RSL were received with solemnity as the dawn slowly started breaking behind the cenotaph, and as the Last Post rang out from on top of the hill the faces of the gathered hundreds? I don’t know why I never...

Bomana Nights: February 2005

Friday, February 25, 2005. The amazing adventures of Xena. Well, the on-going saga of Xena, Warrior Princess continues. Anyway, I got out of bed at 5am when the sound of kitten mewing was getting too loud I’d kept some gravy from last night’s dinner for her breakfast to quieten her down in the morning but when I opened the door, there was not one, but two Xenas sitting on the verandah! So, instead of feeling bad that I’d taken her baby from her, I’m now feeling like mother of the year, because she chose ...

Saturday, August 27, 2005. A Happy Birthday to Pia today! And Deshley and Spot too). And thanks to the Sloganizer. For that little catchphrase). We had a good day. It all started with me making her pancakes in the morning - and they actually worked, for a change! Then there was just time for another second-hand clothes ...
