Monday, May 31, 2010. Oh, my gosh! Well, I finally got all my ducks in a row and am beginning. To get excited about the trip. What is holding me back from complete, unabashed, over-the-top excitement? A 6 hour flight to Philadelphia followed by a 2 hour layover followed by a 11 hour flight to Israel. With a good book in hand (Murder mystery) some of the hours may slip by unnoticed. Tonight I will play a rip-roaring game of Wii: Link's Crossbow with Sheryl. Of course I intend to win! Oh, my gosh!

Thursday, June 3, 2010. In Israel at last. What a flight. It was quite interesting, though. The flight from SFO to Philadelphia was uneventful except that I had to pay for lunch. While in Philadelphia airport awaiting the boarding of the flight to Tel Aviv, some of the Jewish men gathered together for prayer. They faced a wall (the direction of the Holy City? The food was good and free on the overseas flight. Falafals for dinner were very good. Well, I'm pooped! Becky up the hill. June 3, 2010 at 8:16 PM.

Monday, June 7, 2010. Ahhhhhh. Sunday was a trip to the beach area of Caesarea (Stratos Tower, Herod's manmade port). Beautiful weather, beautiful water, interesting ruins (hippodrom where they used to have chariot races) and a theater with a seating capacity of 3500. According to Josephus, this is where the death of Herod Agrippa occurred, as recounted in Acts 12. Lunch was great. I've found some yummy cookies- shortbread-type with rich dark chocolate topping. Almost as good as Sheryl's pies!
