Neaby is the ‘Blow Hole’ from which the sounds of the sea can be heard. This, the villagers interpret as their ancestors still being in control of their lives. This sloping land above ravines and sea cliffs was named. By the Kalinago people, who occupied it for over two hundred years before foreign settlers arrived. The Freshwater Lake lies in the center of an old volcano at the foot of Morne Macaque. This, Dominica’s largest lake, is located at over 762 m above sea level and is the source of the Roseau River. Is located on the West coast of the island and offers an attractive black sand beach in a small but accessible bay. See the only factory that still operates a water mill in its daily production of sugar cane, using the same technhique for over 200 years. This cave overlooks the sea and is located on the old coast road. The community is becoming well-known for its Friday Night Fish Night.
