On a fairly sunny and cool day in September of 2012, Ithaca held its first ever Streets Alive! The main event is simply a closed street or streets with space to walk, roll, bike, and move. You can make up your own fun stuff to do, and we offer other fun stuff to do too: bike rodeo, dancing in the streets, hula hooping, music, bike repair stations, and more. September 22nd, 2013:.

Ithaca is a wonderful event and it takes 100 volunteers to make it a reality. From Intersection Superheroes to Roving Bike Mechanics, we have a place for you. On the day of a Streets Alive! Event, residents of the closed street need to move their cars from the street for the duration of Streets Alive! So as to minimize danger. To people who will be expecting no cars on the closed street. Parking is available on nearby streets, and we warmly invite you to participate in Streets Alive! On the day of the event, and will be able to return their cars at 6 PM. An. Y cars remaining on the street during the event are subject to tow. We look forward to seeing residents...
