Itty Bitty Betty Blog

Itty Bitty Betty Blog. Wednesday, June 27, 2012. First Tri in the Books. I competed in my first triathlon this past Sunday. I raced the inaugural Curt Gowdy Xterra. Xterra's are off-road triathlons, so unlike regular Tris, the bike and run are on trails. The distances for Xterra's usually don't fit into the neat little categories like road triathlons; my race was in between a Sprint distance and an Olympic distance event. My race went well I think for my first Tri. Here's the breakdown of my race:. I cer...

Itty Bitty Betty Blog: May 2012

http://ittybittybettyblog.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Itty Bitty Betty Blog. Friday, May 11, 2012. My "training" is going well this year. As I mentioned in my last post, which sadly was months ago, I'm applying a flexible approach to preparing for my two Xterra races this summer. Since I am racing in multi-sport events, I need to work out in all three. Race disciplines - swim, bike, run. The last two summers I did some big running events that had me focusing my work outs on one thing - running. I missed road and mountain biking with Jesper. I missed t.

Itty Bitty Betty Blog: August 2010

http://ittybittybettyblog.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Itty Bitty Betty Blog. Friday, August 27, 2010. Leash, since she knows the route well. We slip out the back gate and run 0.15 miles on pavement to the trail head to the City of Boulder Open Space near my house. From then on, it is all dirt. As fall approaches, the mornings are getting cooler and the sunsets more beautiful. In the heat of summer, the sun is already way up by the time I head out. But now, it I start out in the coolness of dawn. Strelka posing as we get into the wide open prairie. Strelka a...

Itty Bitty Betty Blog: July 2011

Itty Bitty Betty Blog. Sunday, July 10, 2011. Diagnosis - PNEUMONIA. Not good. My condition is relatively "mild", if pneumonia can ever be mild. It's sometimes referred to as Walking Pneumonia. Or maybe in my case, Running Pneumonia. So, I am on hold for knowing if I will be able to race next Saturday. My Doctor said it is not out of the question if. The meds get at what ails me. I give it a 50% 50% chance at this point. Wednesday, July 6, 2011. Think I spoke too soon. I am hopeful at this point that I h...

Itty Bitty Betty Blog. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Vail Weekend with L&C. Carmen and Lynnette getting ready for the first big run on Saturday. Dang it was GOOD! We focused on Pete's Bowl and skied the hell out of Lovers Leap, Hornsilver, Resolution, Big Rock Park, Grand Review, and the Star til Blue Sky closed that day, only stopping to grab a quick snack al fresco. Once Blue Sky Basin closed, we continued to ski until all the lifts on the front side closed. Lynnette in the VASTness of Vail. I'm a 40-is...

Kim & Dan's Excellent Adventures: February 2009

Kim and Dans Excellent Adventures. Saturday, February 28, 2009. Dan's project this morning. Oh yeah, he got one! The Superfly Singlespeed 29er! I'm a little disappointed in the paint job, it's pretty obnoxious but it'll be a sweet bike! Hopefully he can get it built up in time for our ride this afternoon! Friday, February 27, 2009. I just noticed that my favorite soda has sucralose in it :( Bummer! Now I've got to give that up. Diet Tangerine Lime Natural Soda. Now it's time to unwind and relax and gear ...

Kim & Dan's Excellent Adventures: November 2008

http://kimanddansexcellentadventures.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Kim and Dans Excellent Adventures. Friday, November 28, 2008. We started the day with a chilly ride out at Hall. I was riding a Safire demo which I've been dying to ride since Tuesday. I quickly found out that the bike's rear wheel loves to be on the ground, mainly because of the brain shock. It was pretty amazing! And climbing on the Safire was a breeze compared to the 30lb 6.6! After the ride, we cleaned up and headed over the Dan's brothers house for some turkey dinner. MMMMMM MMMMMMM good! Our last d...

The Itty Bitty Beer Blog. Tweason’ale – dogfish head. May 23, 2012. Very light and flavorful; you get a bit of tartness followed by a sweet berry aftertaste. Not what I expected, but I really like it! From → Beers I've drank. May 23, 2012. I hate to admit… It’s actually good. A bit sweet but you’d never know it was a bud. There. I said it.
