The Adventures of Shakerag Susan: March 2012
http://shakeragsusan.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
The Adventures of Shakerag Susan. Irritating wildlife since 1975. Monday, March 12, 2012. The end of winter. While we haven't really had winter this year, even that attempt at winter seems to be losing its hold on Shakerag. I don't recall a winter that didn't produce at least one snow. This winter, we had one afternoon of snow that was gone in about four hours. That suits me just fine, but I do not look forward to all the ticks this warm winter will produce. A tree in bloom at the park. The end of winter.
The Adventures of Shakerag Susan: July 2011

The Adventures of Shakerag Susan. Irritating wildlife since 1975. Friday, July 22, 2011. It has been another unusually hot week in Shakerag. The other morning I found this snail on the glass outside my livingroom. It is harder than I expected to identify him. I know he's a mollusk and gastropod and terrestrial, but other than that I am drawing a blank. Does anyone know a good website for identifying snails of the eastern U.S? Okay, so once again, I have to give the spider warning. The males don't bite or...

The Adventures of Shakerag Susan: August 2011
http://shakeragsusan.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
The Adventures of Shakerag Susan. Irritating wildlife since 1975. Thursday, August 18, 2011. I have finally done it! I have finally 100% positively identified a mushroom! My mother came over to my house carrying a bunch of mushrooms she found growing on freshly mowed grass owned by the city. She collected them all! What a good mother I have! As soon as I saw them, I knew I had seen them in a book recently. I also strongly suspected that they were poisonous. With fairly rapid onset. Hope you enjoy looking!
The Adventures of Shakerag Susan: Land Between the Lakes
http://shakeragsusan.blogspot.com/2012/01/land-between-lakes.html
The Adventures of Shakerag Susan. Irritating wildlife since 1975. Saturday, January 14, 2012. Land Between the Lakes. The weather has been wonderfully and unseasonably warm. Until this week. Today's high barely made it above freezing. I did have a chance to go to Land Between the Lakes. And I take any chance I get when it comes to visiting LBL. It was too cold to do much, but I did take a few pictures. On our way to Hematite Lake, we saw the largest herd of Fallow Deer I have ever seen. Critter of the Day.

The Adventures of Shakerag Susan: July 2013

The Adventures of Shakerag Susan. Irritating wildlife since 1975. Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Do I remember how to blog? Hi, whoever is still out there. Lets see if I remember how to blog. I've been busy lately. I have a newborn and have been taking her with me on mushroom hikes. She likes it until I have to squat or bend over. I have found some interesting mushrooms lately. Below is a Lactarius indigo or indigo milk cap. I have no idea what this little mushroom is. So I went ahead and harvested it. It was...
The Adventures of Shakerag Susan: September 2011
http://shakeragsusan.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
The Adventures of Shakerag Susan. Irritating wildlife since 1975. Thursday, September 29, 2011. Critter of the Day. Today's Critter of the Day is an immature male Magnolia Warbler. This adorable little guy collided with my living room window earlier this week. At first, I didn't know what he was- except that he was a warbler. He definitely has an insect-eating beak. After a bit of searching online, I found a photo of a first year male. It looked just like him! Aren't the feathers on his back pretty?
