http://ivanostocco.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Figments on painting and life as an artist - now from Los Angeles. July 28, 2015. Here's another on the theme of natural and artificial landscape mixing it up in tucked-away spots, in this case the underside of an overpass where fishermen come to fish, kids come to smoke pot, and vehicles roar past overhead. I jog through here often and am always taken by the juxtaposition of elements. To the left is the Eramosa River, homeland to the Attawandaron or Neutral Nation. Mattaini learned how to work with conc...

Ivano Stocco: March 2015
http://ivanostocco.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Figments on painting and life as an artist - now from Los Angeles. March 27, 2015. Bull Thistles and Sulphur Shelves. Bull Thistles and Sulphur Shelves. Mixed media on birch panel. Bull thistles and sulfur shelves, these. Are just some of the wild regulars we spot often on family treks in the bush. I should say that Mother Nature doesn't seduce me in the ways she seems to do with others. My daughter on these walks is quick to point out stuff like the eminent destroying angel. Mushroom, aminita virosa.

art is worth 1000 somethings...: a few illustrations - bird character
http://earlbeadle.blogspot.com/2011/03/new-illustrations-birdz.html
Art is worth 1000 somethings. Thursday, March 10, 2011. A few illustrations - bird character. These are some of the newest illustrations I have competed. I've used a mix of ink and watercolour. I have several other goodies to post, new lino prints, drawings and sketches. There are hopes of a t-shirt series for the above images, mostly likely I will only go with one image but change up the colour with the sizes of t-shirt. Maybe even a bike bag design with the screen printed birdz. I'll keep ya posted.

art is worth 1000 somethings...: a few things on the go
http://earlbeadle.blogspot.com/2011/03/few-things-on-go.html
Art is worth 1000 somethings. Thursday, March 03, 2011. A few things on the go. There are a few things on the go, new illustrations, t-shirt design, lots of brainstorming and drawing for the new installations this year and a NEW WEBSITE. I've used a free web hosting called Weebly, as much as I would like a fancy paid site I think using this free tool is actually really nice. Check it out and give me some feedback. www.earlbeadle.weebly.com. More to come, lots of work to do. Art is worth 1000 somethings.

http://ivanostocco.blogspot.com/2015/06/mottled.html
Figments on painting and life as an artist - now from Los Angeles. June 17, 2015. The next in my ongoing quest to really open up the eyes and discover moments of life and beauty in the everyday. Or as Van Gogh explained to his friend and fellow painter Émile Bernard: "If I work on very quietly, the beautiful subjects will come of their own accord; really, above all, the great thing is to gather new vigour in reality. Without any preconceived plan or Parisian prejudice.". Acrylic mixed media on birch panel.

Figments on painting and life as an artist - now from Los Angeles. November 12, 2014. Solvitur ambulando, "it is solved by walking." That and a little chemical help, too, though walking is healthier. Here's a good article. On the link between strolling and creative thought. This painting, by the way, will be showing shortly at MJG Gallery in Leslieville for "Hidden in Plain Sight," with photographer Tommy Vohs. The show runs from November 17 to 30, with an opening reception on November 20 during.

Figments on painting and life as an artist - now from Los Angeles. September 25, 2014. Colville at the AGO. My hopes were high going in to the retrospective of Alex Colville's work at the AGO. This weekend, even if I knew little about the artist beforehand, being the bad Canadian that I am. In the Globe and Mail. James Adams, whose comments I generally appreciate, gave it a lacklustre review. To more popular representational subject matter, which seemed to be what Colville was all about. And in theme and...
