De interieurs van oude kerken zijn als een driedimensionaal geschiedenisboek, vol informatie over religieuze, politieke, economische en ethische motieven uit het verleden. Veel protestantse kerken werden gebouwd tijdens de katholieke Middeleeuwen en gingen in de 16e eeuw over naar de Reformatie. Veel gebouwen dragen nog de zichtbare sporen van deze beide levensfasen…. Als gevolg van de Beeldenstorm is het vandaag de dag heel moeilijk om ons voor te stellen hoe het interieur van Nederlandse kerken eruit zag voor de Reformatie, in de katholieke tijd. Illustratief hiervoor is het koor van de gotische Der Aa-kerk in Groningen, dat zich vandaag vooral kenmerkt door leegte; de oorspronkelijke inrichting is bij de zogenaamde Reductie van 1594 rigoureus verwijderd en op de pilaren werden teksten aangebracht als een soort calvinistisch manifest. IVCC Disc golf
The IVCC disc golf course, after having been in the ground for one year, was lucky enough to have been selected as a nesting area by a pair of bald eagles! After a successful 2011 breeding season the eagles returned and it appears they will call this area home for years to come. Several signs have been placed on the course to remind everyone of appropriate conduct. The disc golf course is located at the SW corner of the campus adjacent to the men's baseball field.
