As we get more businesses in Jack London, hopefully this will change. It would be great if our neighborhood had busy sidewalks and thriving businesses, so that more entrepreneurs would be interested in the area. We need a pizza place! A neighborhood grocery store! It's a chicken/egg problem, of course. But we can start by patronizing places like the Sierra Deli.

But I hope others will find it both useful and interesting. By way of background, I moved into the Jack London district in September of 2003. Coming from New York City, I was attracted to the urban feel of the area and the proximity to public transportation. So far it has been a good experience.
