Life is a journey, not a destination. Ice Hotel and Dog Sled. So I will be offline and disappear for a big while. Let me end this post with one of my favorite Beach Boys’ songs, Kokomo. Bodies in the sand. Tropical drink melting in your hand. We’ll be falling in love. To the rhythm of a steel drum band. Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take ya. To Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama. Key Largo, Montego baby why don’t we go. We’ll get there fast. And then we’ll take it slow. That’s where we wanna go. Are you go...

The Cave | My Poetry

Near Miss →. March 29, 2013 · 7:53 pm. The cave, stone-sealed. In case He should be stolen. Nailed, hand and foot,. I clung to the cross,. Saw him bleed,. Take him down,. Stiff and cold,. Taken to the cave. To the shroud, –. Three days on,. I returned to find Him,. But the stone was gone. Empty tomb, no-one there. To find Him gone. I saw the gardener. Walking in the garden. Where have you put Him? I will bury Him properly. Directly to me,. Into my grieving heart,. Deep into my soul. Not dead , in a shroud.

Days Of Youth « My life for better or verse

My life for better or verse. By Terry du Toit - My life for better or verse. George Bernard Shaw was well-known for his acid wit and had very clear opinions on most subjects. One of his gems is that Youth is such a wonderful thing; it’s a pity it is wasted on the young . How right he is! How well I remember the long summer days. The golden sun swimming in a cloudless sky. How easy it was to lie in knee-deep green grass. And think thoughts of no consequence. Or think not at all. How could I know? Thank yo...

Nice to meet you, Jo’burg. |

From an animal lover, a blog with no rhyme or reason. Nice to meet you, Jo’burg. It looks like I made it, and it’s damn cold! Well, ok, it’s still 19ºC, but that’s like 13 lower than Toronto when I left. Also, everything is brown… the trees, the grass, the plants. It’s got to be the season I guess. Now, sleep time. Tomorrow I meet the rest of the crew and we drive to the Thanda Park Reserve. Woot woot. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). July 5, 2012.

The Rand Club…in jeans « abcitsme
https://abcitsme.wordpress.com/2013/03/15/the-rand-club-in-jeans
Not just another acronym. The Rand Club…in jeans. Yesterday I had lunch at the Rand Club as a guest of the City of Joburgwearing jeansoops! Anyways they didn’t seem to mind too much about that although I did get a few snooty looks from some of the members, either that or their caviar smelt funny. The most beautiful skylight set in the biggest entrance hall ever. And the stained glass is all made in SA! The library dates back to when the Club was opened and contains over 10 000 books. I’ve visited a...

Kay Kay and his changing life. Skip to primary content. The mystic children petting zoo. July 24, 2012. Our facility boasts over 100 cages which house children from countries around the world. Our three-year-olds from India. They have a large enclosure but tend to stick to the concrete. They find the dry grass and arid soil too rough and painful to walk on. We paid a large sum of money for them but will realize a return on investment when we use them to breed one day. Our Beautiful Eskimo girl. Two white...

I know, I know, you thought I was lost. But I haven’t been. Lost; just preoccupied. My sister is opening a petting farm, and I am helping with the web stuff and taking photos. (AFTER you read this, you can go see what we are up to there. The one stuffing his face? That one’s mine. By the time we got outside, there had been a thief in the yard.
