Drennan's Adventures Underground: March 2009
http://drennansadventuresunderground.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
So where do I begin? I feel like crap just now. No really. And there are probably lots of reasons for that, but I'm trying to focus on the things I really want to get out, you know? Why does writing have to be so painful? OK, does anyone else remember this? I've been searching the internet for this clip for, like, the last 5 years, and today I finally found it! All I have to say is, "vote Goat.". Fear in a Handful of Dust. And I will show you something different from either. Where I ate scallops wrapped ...

Drennan's Adventures Underground: First Day. . .
http://drennansadventuresunderground.blogspot.com/2010/01/first-day.html
First Day. . . And you should if you haven't, you'll know that being too nice is just a recipe for paper airplanes and spit wads. So I start out like Miss Viola Swamp. And although I think it's necessary, I sort of hate having to be that way, you know? But basically, going over syllabi is just plain boring for everyone in the room, including me. I guess I'm always glad when the first class meeting is over and I can think about the second and all the things I really love about teaching. A president, a King.

Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Four Years of English. Alright, I've been sitting on this because I wanted to write something up about Nathan since the last post was rather Jonah-centric, but if I don't write these out I'm going to forget, and then it'll never happen. It's really interesting to see how the English language develops in children. And having two of them close enough together to remember, it's interesting to see the differences between individuals also! And he used it in the proper context!

SunRayCafe: Jonah and Pokemon
http://sunraycafe.blogspot.com/2008/09/jonah-and-pokemon.html
Thursday, September 04, 2008. If any of you read my wife's blog. You're no doubt up to date on all the latest antics of our boys. Jonah is loving going to school two days a week, and Nathan is having all sorts of adventures in learning the English language, and getting into everything, and tormenting his brother, and, well. being Nathan. I asked. "Oh, that's 100." This blew his mind, for two reasons. First, he immediately recognized that having a third number made it very big, and to him (as ...Then the ...

Ok, I was "tagged" by Cheri. I'm supposed to post the forth picture in the forth folder in my photo program- I use Photoshop- without editing it. So here it is. I took this not too long after I moved to Vermont a a local cemetery. I have this thing for graveyard photos. First, we had Three Cups of Tea. Next, I was supposed to read Randy Pausch's The Last Lecture. I was also assigned to read Loung Ung's First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers. Anyhow (this is turning into a long post!

Drennan's Adventures Underground: May 2009

I Want. . . A wrap skirt. Having been inspired by Libby Dibby. And by a conversation with Cheri,. I really want to make a reversible wrap skirt. And I think that this one will fit the bill. Isn't it so me? This looks to me like it will be a quickie project; maybe I can get one done before mom arrives for her visit next week. I'm just so excited. Why does this have to be difficult? It sounds like I need a good therapist, doesn't it? Fenway is especially lovey today- do I spend the day cuddling with him?

Drennan's Adventures Underground: December 2008

2009- The Year of Dante. So I've decided that 2009 shall be my year of Dante's Divine Comedy. But really, what's motivated this particular look at Dante is that I'm teaching Dante next semester. And as I've been reading about Dante and thinking about Dante and finally reading Dante's work, all I think, in reference to the course, is, "How are my students going to deal with this? How are they going to respond? I'm feeling so inadequate to the task at hand. The Contemporary Freak Show. Lately, I've found m...
