Should Feed Readers Count Unread Items? | RSS Advisory Board
http://www.rssboard.org/news/208/should-feed-readers-count-unread-items
Should Feed Readers Count Unread Items? Brent Simmons, the developer of the NetNewsWire RSS reader, is questioning his decision. To put an unread count next to each feed, reasoning that it encourages people to be too obsessive about reading every item:. Instead of a dozen bookmarks, people had a hundred feeds. Or two hundred. Or two thousand. Including me. To this day. I did not know this was going to happen. That was not the idea: it was a side effect of reasonable (at the time) choices.

Welcome to my Manila site! Not settled yet in KC. Sunday, October 18, 2009. The packing, loading, driving, and checking into a new job went as well as could be expected. I've enjoyed the kind good-byes of friends. I miss the lake. I worry about money for the transition. I don't yet understnad my job and haven't yet gotten my stuff. All is nerve wracking. Not settled yet. Still striving. Last update: Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 3:08:41 PM.
