LESSON: BIG, MISSHAPED AND BIZARRE EKG! People suffer a wide range of symptoms with associated bizarre ECG findings. What could be the cause? Do 12-Leads on People at Risk for Hyperkalemia. Can't pee it out (Decreased Elimination). Medications (Potassium Sparing Diuretics, NSAIDS, ACE Inhibitors). Cellular Chernobyl (Excessive Cellular Release). What Happens to your EKG? Tall, peaked T Waves (Sharp enough on top to prick your finger, narrow base). Small, Pancaked (flattened and broad) or absent P-Waves.

Exploring the usefulness of lead avr. AVR: The Forgotten Lead. Lead aVR, as it turns out, has significant clinical relevance. Using aVR as a diagnostic tool or a tool of inclusion can help change the course of treatment for your patient and even may save a life! Under certain circumstances, lead aVR can predict an acute Left Main Coronary Artery occlusion, acute proximal LAD occlusion or a potentially acute exacerbation of Triple/Multi-Vessel Disease.
