Alexa Shrugged: Days before 9/11 Obama authorizes additional embassy security for Baghdad
http://www.alexashrugged.com/2014/09/days-before-911-obama-authorizes.html
Thursday, September 04, 2014. Days before 9/11 Obama authorizes additional embassy security for Baghdad. On Tuesday, the White House announced. That it's sending more troops to Iraq to protect the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad:. Press secretary Josh Earnest said in a statement that that the Defense Department authorization stemmed from a State Department request for “approximately 350 additional U.S. military personnel to protect our diplomatic facilities and personnel.”. The infuriating part is that if we had...

I am probably overthinking this. This is me blogging. Wedding gifts still trickle in, though it's down to a drop every few weeks or so now. Homesickness, our first shared Nostalgie. When I found it in the La-Z-Boy in our study, Anna hugged me. Now the mountain of IKEA boxes reminds us that we are a little closer to being sharers of a single domestic life, complete with things to sit on. I just want somebody to be my pam beesly. i am probably overthinking this: death, destruction and love

I am probably overthinking this. This is me blogging. Death, destruction and love. For purposes of space, I want to interact here with Jameson on his latest post charting his reading through the Bible. It seems to me that he's assumed, more than anything, the mantle of arbiter of morality. What does he mean by "experiencing the text firsthand, before making. a judgment" on why one should bother? That doesn't make this easy to work out. It doesn't make it easy to stomach the thought of wholesale slaug...

i am probably overthinking this: the possibility of first principles
http://bengraber.blogspot.com/2010/12/possibility-of-first-principles.html
I am probably overthinking this. This is me blogging. The possibility of first principles. More thoughtful thoughts from Jameson. This time explaining some of the basics of what he's working through politically. I don't love politics, but I think he's a little too pessimistic on some points. Am I being true to my faith, and trying to build a consistent Christian worldview? Or am I simply picking and choosing what I want to believe? I suppose Jameson may be interacting with Van Til's language here, but I ...

I am probably overthinking this. This is me blogging. From the presence of the Lord. I'm trying to make it a summer goal to read through as much of the Pentateuch in Hebrew as I can. Who knows how far I'll get, but the exercise is, I think, spiritually valuable as well as good practice for this fall (when I'll start Old Testament Historical Traditions at school. There's something about the very difficulty of reading in a foreign language - you have. Of his brother (v. 9). Elements of the curse in...I won...

i am probably overthinking this: broken words
http://bengraber.blogspot.com/2011/03/broken-words.html
I am probably overthinking this. This is me blogging. I think Jameson's latest on his reading through the Old Testament. Gets a lot of things exactly right, and once again I don't think the interaction I'd like to do with it would fit in a comment, so I'll pull some quotes over here and try to share some thoughts and (I hope) fruitful ways to deal with some of the questions he raises. I can only heartily second this sentiment - especially in light of, say, Nehemiah 8. The theme of land and the purity the...
