Texas Politics of "Today and Tomorrow". Friday, July 26, 2013. Blog #5 Texas State and Local Government. Don’t get me wrong, I like for people to voice their opinion, especially if they feel that there is something bothering them. However, I feel that if they are going to voice their opinion, they should take the time to do a little research and not assume that because the clouds are dark, that it is going to rain. Tuesday, July 23, 2013. They're Not Lying, You're Just Assuming. David Jennings of Big Jolly Politics authored a blog post a couple of weeks ago titled, “. Planned Parenthood Lies about Sen. John Carona, Tells Truth about Mixing Funds. 8221; In his post, Jennings bashes on Democrats and accuses Planned Parenthood of lying; all telltale signs of Republicans being his target audience. Friday, July 26, 2013. Earlier today the Austin American Statesman published an article titled, “ Lawmakers Reach Deal on Transportation Funds. 8221; written by Chris Tomlinson of The Associated Press. Texas Government: Punishment Without Hypocrisy
http://aatenciotxgovt.blogspot.com/2013/08/punishment-without-hypocrisy.html
Tuesday, August 13, 2013. In a blog post titled, “ Capital Punishment: Retribution for the Righteous. 8221; Tammy Huang writes about the topic of Capital Punishment. She talks about how this penalty exists primarily to deter people from committing drastic crimes such as murder, with which I do agree, but unfortunately I have to say that this method is quite antiquated and ineffective. Texas Politics of "Today and Tomorrow". Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Blog 8 Perry's Problems. 8220;3 Peat: Perry’s Political Problems”. Is the title of the article written by a fellow classmate, Natasha Ahmed. Her article is a well-written article, however, I think that it only shows her point of view. With that being said, I think she fails to explain a few things like the silver lining. She explains it as something that he was just given when in reality I believe that he earned it. Discovering Texas Politics: August 2013
http://llcarter14.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Re: "Bag Ban: The Impacts". Classmate Wes Davis wrote a nice editorial called Bag Ban: The Impacts. He talked about the bag ban in Austin that prohibits the use of plastic carryout bags in retail stores. While Davis was able to write about both the advantages and disadvantages of the ban, I mostly only see negative things. I agree with Davis that the bag ban is supposed to be a good thing for the environment. However, Austin is just one of few. Should we really bother? What I wa...
