Jane Reeves Glass: May 2014
http://janereevesglass.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
I wanted to share this article from the Creative Glass Guild blog, an article written to discuss the issue of artists skill sharing and teaching. Three artists share their thoughts, me being one of them. Having read it, I'm not sure myself if I shared clearly. It's a tricky issue to unravel and a very personal one too. But I'd love to know your thoughts. Http:/ www.creativeglassguild.co.uk/blog/glass-meets-world-study-1. Posted by Jane Reeves. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my work at:.
Jane Reeves Glass: March 2014
http://janereevesglass.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Today I was determined to not work. So we grabbed the sunshine moment and discovered by accident a little wood, called Wraxall Piece. I say by accident, actually we were looking for a Public Footpath and happened to drive by the sign for this place. It was lovely, blue sky, sun shining down and through, crunchy paths, lime green moss. And a great big buzzard circling in amongst the trees. Not much sea to be seen but then I've been at the seaside all week.in my imaginings. Posted by Jane Reeves.
Jane Reeves Glass: Before January

And being alone is important. Without the interruptions of home life, the superficial things sink under the surface and the deeper stuff rises. It's important. So yes, January is quieter in some senses, but actually it's the springboard for the year ahead. I think it's one of my favourite times of the year. There's an expectation. Beautiful blue skies in Greenway, near Kingswear, Devon. The tree opposite my house heavy with snow. Utterly stunning. A sea mist over Trebarwith Strand. I love my job.

Jane Reeves Glass: October 2013

I wanted to record in a few words how the Bright Edges exhibition went a week or so ago in Clifton, Bristol. I've realised over the last year that I enjoy an 'event' orientated schedule. Planning, devising themes, working out how to display, presenting a finished, whole collection that represents a few months of work. I think it's the way I am wired. I like a year planner! And it's a way of recording, as in a journal, what's going on in life. But it usually works out and all is well. The next big event i...

When we got them they were black and you could not see what the material they were made from. Took hard work and elbow grease, but we found they were solid brass escutcheons.

A few years ago, I developed an attraction to the camera as a tool to investigate social / emotional relationships and interactions. Today, I use the camera in the process of searching for sanctuary in the human condition. I am perpetually circling, always searching for home. Every moment recorded at the click of my shutter, I discover and reveal this place of origin.
