Jan MacLeod Trotter
Women's fiction writer: strong characters, pacey plots, love stories, mystery, travel - including the overland trail to India - and historical fiction (as Janet MacLeod Trotter). Jan runs an online reading group called bookgroupies. This site includes diary entries and photos from her experiences on the hippy trail in the 1970s. Enjoy the nostalgia! The experience has inspired my new mystery novel, THE VANISHING OF RUTH, which is out now as an ebook. Find details and extracts at The Vanishing of Ruth.

Jan Mac's Quilts
Tuesday, August 28, 2007. We've been travelling a bit but I've also taken a break from blogging. I'm still very busy making quilts to donate and have just given 14 to the local women's refuge. I'm trying to clean up my sewing room by sewing the scraps into tops but it's a never-ending job LOL. Posted by Jan Mac at 2:25 AM. Thursday, March 15, 2007. Going on the road again. Hope you all get plenty of quilting done while we're away. See you again towards the end of the year. Posted by Jan Mac at 2:18 PM.

Thursday, February 25, 2016. I love clothesline rope! I ran across a picture on buckalooview's Instagram of a nifty basket made from clothesline rope. This type of basketmaking has been around forever but I always thought that was a lot of work for a basket. I couldn't get it off my mind so I picked up a 100 foot, $3.44 package of clothesline rope from WalMart and became instantly addicted to the possibilities. Links to this post. The things I do/make/see. June 2, 2010. I am now in 4 virtual quilting bees! One is wrapping up in the next couple of months and I will probably not rejoin so I can spend more time on the other 3 bees and the many projects I need to get started/work on. I also started a virtual quilting bee with my modern quilt guild. I think I will be late less when I am not in so many bees. The Block Swap April Block 1. The Block Swap April Block 2. Jan Made It | Where did you get that?
Where did you get that? Homespun Hearts Part II. In case you’re curious, here’s the backside of the two hearts. I posted yesterday. They’re hand-stitched and really so easy a child could make one. In fact one of these would be a perfect gift for a teacher. I stuffed it tight. I crammed it with fiberfill and closed it up one stitch at a time. That’s all there is to it.
