Sharing experience on arts and life by Teresa Huang. 8月10日抵達Prince Edward Island的首府Charlottetown ，這個因為Lucy Maud Montgomery所寫的童話故事"Anne of Green Gables"而廣為人知的島嶼，是加拿大第23個大島，經濟上以農業為主，農作物又以馬鈴薯最多。沿海當然也盛產龍蝦、牡蠣等海鮮。此地海邊以紅色沙灘與岩岸著稱。我們一行六人仍然搭乘了一輛計程車遊島，沿途欣賞城市和海邊風景。兼導遊的司機帶我們到靠海邊的歷史地標，19世紀Queen Ann Revival風格的典雅建築Dalvay-by-the-Sea參觀。這棟既古典又現代的建築矗立在開闊的天地間，依傍著美麗的湖泊，已然成為極受歡迎的渡假飯店。 繼續沿著海岸走不遠處的The Dunes Studio Gallery and Cafe是一間非常有趣的畫廊藝品咖啡屋，寬敞的室內分隔著許多空間，展售著各地手工藝品與繪畫等，還有一間特色餐...

Sharing experience on arts and life by Teresa Huang. 經過三年的擴建，舊金山現代美術館終於在5月14日重新開幕。由挪威建築事務所Snohetta以及主要建築師Craig Dykers所設計擴建的白色建物，在既有的傳統現代主義硬邊盒狀形式的舊館後面，添加了10層樓的空間。除了美術館的展覽空間增加了約三倍外，還有45,000英呎的開闊大廳供民眾活動。新建築外觀壁面以白色不規則切割紋面或折疊紋，精巧地與原建築的嚴謹規律紅色磚面產生對照和對話。藉美術館的意象空間，讓創意與變化融入現代城市規律的建築面向，在吸引人們的目光中，也引發人們對內部藝術展覽的想像與期待。 Teresa L.C. Sharing experience on arts and life by Teresa Huang. 一年多前，經由Sophia的介紹參加了美國加州排舞協會(California Line Dance Association of America)，因為地點就在離家不遠的Safeway旁邊，實在沒有偷懶的理由。因此每個週六與週日上午去跳一個小時的Line Dance，運動健身，活絡筋骨。咱們雖然是半百的年紀，自己覺得還年輕，那麼就更應該要運動囉。 我很喜歡跳舞之前20分鐘的健身操，讓關在辦公室一週的肢體，得以野放，全身的筋骨與細胞，也因此甦醒過來。健身操與各式舞步的音樂都是協會老師精心挑選的，節奏活潑充滿律動感，而舞步當然也是老師們自己編製的。跳舞除了運動外，還可以訓練記憶力與反應力，因為要記住舞步與跟上旋律呀。 Teresa L.C. Sharing experience on arts and life by Teresa Huang. 目前舊金山de Young Museum正舉辦著美國藝術家Frank Stella (1936-)創作六十年的回顧展，展出了五十件具代表性的繪畫、浮雕、雕塑和草圖等作品。崛起於抽象表現主義盛行的1950-60年代，當時許多畫家在畫面上恣意而且狂飆地展現著他們豐沛的情感或心緒時，Stella卻特立獨行地、漠然地排拒把畫面當作打開另外一種情境或意象之"窗"的傳統繪畫思維。他在1959年以一幅黑色的繪畫驚艷藝壇，讓"畫面"回歸到二度的、平坦的表面，讓繪畫就是繪畫本身的行動與結果。他說「繪畫就是有顏料在上面的平坦表面」，"What you see is what you see"，也就無須額外的遐想。 Teresa L.C. Mill Creek in Dexter, MI, is a favorite place of mine to paint outdoors, and the weather on this early April evening was perfect.
