Japan in blogs

Monday, March 22, 2010. Wandering Around the old Neighbourhood. Today I decided to take a long walk. I managed to walk all the way from the flat, into the centre of town, then to Cowcaddens (China Town), St George’s Cross (Where I used to live as a student), Byers Road (aka. Bryoz road) and down to Partick. It was a really pleasant evening, which was rounded off with some weird youtube videos, such as the one below. Via http:/ bryoz.wordpress.com]. Japan in blogs: Moshi-Moshi

http://japaninblogs.blogspot.com/2010/03/moshi-moshi.html

Friday, March 19, 2010. I just tried to call my Japanese friend. Of course… she didn’t answer. Two guys passed the phone back and forth trying to figure out what I was saying to them. They didn’t know much English and I don’t know much Japanese. FAIL. Of course this is a lot harder over the phone. I wasn’t able to rely on my charades to help me communicate. I just wanted to tell her that I am going to be staying a few days longer. Another reason why I need to learn Japanese ASAP! So many, so little time.

Japan in blogs: BigAl

http://japaninblogs.blogspot.com/2010/03/bigal.html

Friday, March 5, 2010. Japan in blogs: Children and language awareness

http://japaninblogs.blogspot.com/2010/03/children-and-language-awareness.html

Monday, March 8, 2010. Children and language awareness. We made a rare trip to the Big City this weekend to do some shopping. There we ate lunch at a restaurant. Over on the next table was an American. My children noticed and were curious. They have met many English speakers and probably recognised that he was speaking English. As we left my daughter of three said “hello” to him. She is by no means a shy girl. The rules of language use are culturally defined more than anything else and therefore need to ...

Japan in blogs: Japan vs USA

http://japaninblogs.blogspot.com/2010/03/japan-vs-usa.html

Monday, March 8, 2010. Japan in blogs: Totally Rad Tune Tuesday *TRTT*

http://japaninblogs.blogspot.com/2010/03/totally-rad-tune-tuesday-trtt.html

Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Totally Rad Tune Tuesday *TRTT*. Though, I won’t solely focus on J-Pop and other Japanese genres.  I’ll be sure to throw in some of my personal favorites from varying places around this crazy world.  In fact, most of my favorite music comes from the très chic France. Alrighty, lets get on with my favorite J-Pop group. Perfume consists of 3 members:. These photos were taken from the new Natural Beauty Basic commercial featuring Perfume’s new single (Love Me Natur...

Arne in Japan

Japanina's Food Corner

Wednesday, 7 August 2013. Spinach "shira-ae"- Spinach dressed with tofu. Spinach and tofu tossed in a sesame and miso dressing. This amazingly quick and easy dish came together with a flurry of excitement as I finally remembered to use up some left over food before it turned bad! A wonderful dish to eat on a stuffy humid day, this spinach shira-ae is refreshing, light and so healthy! Once I had it made I couldn't believe that it was done so quickly and tasted so damn good! 2 tsp miso paste.

Japan in a Van

Japan in a Van. Looking for the best snow in Japan. From El Grand to the Grand. January 29, 2014. I am sad to see the trip winding down but excited as I think about the next trip. Sarah is headed to Fiji and NZ, Jill is dreaming of Chile and I would love to take a long walk with a purpose. Eating ramen, drinking beer and planning. BBQ with Sitoshi and Nikka. January 29, 2014. Gassing up for one last rip. One last hot creek. January 24, 2014. Asahidake and hot creeks. January 24, 2014. Sara on the hike up.

Japan in Brazil...

Web Hosting in Japan – Concentrated, but nothing like the US. According to Webhosting.info. In Japan about 50% of market share for web hosting services is taken up by just 5 hosting companies, hosting between them over 1.5 million domains. I thought this was an incredible concentration until I saw the situation in the US. Wild West Domains, probably better known to you as Godaddy. Currently handles 44% of the US market with over 35 million domains hosted. Taking only 2-4% of the market each. By authors T...
