In addition to satisfying my Indiana Jones fantasy of scaling ancient ruins in Thailand I was also able to satiate the political nerd in me with visits to some key political and historical sites in Bangkok as well. I was able to visit the Vimanmek Palace. It was a great experience for me to see how passionately the people of Thailand follow their king.
