Writing the Relics: E-books: Home of the Next Big Thing?
http://buddhasrelics.blogspot.com/2012/03/e-books-home-of-next-big-thing.html
Saturday, March 24, 2012. E-books: Home of the Next Big Thing? E-book phenomenon Amanda Hocking's Tylle series was optioned for film a little over a year ago and continues to sell well in multiple formats. Thriller writer Barry Eisler walked away from a $500,000 offer from St. Martin's Press to self-publish The Detachment. Electronically and later in print through Amazon's Thomas and Mercer imprint. Comic books, from Spiderman and Superman to reported revivals of The Shadow. But just as YouTube has chang...

Annie on the screen? Annie on the screen? Do you know someone who works in film or television? 8220;Signs and Wonders” started as a screenplay and has the potential to be the mainstream breakout film about faith that many of us want to see happen. It’s not preachy and it’s not political, plus Annie is a great role for an actress. Email me at adena.alex@yahoo.com if you know someone who might be interested in Annie’s story and I’ll mail them a paperback and a copy of the screenplay. Enter your comment here.

Writing the Relics: Why I No Longer Price My E-book at $7.99
http://buddhasrelics.blogspot.com/2011/09/why-i-no-longer-price-my-e-book-at-799.html
Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Why I No Longer Price My E-book at $7.99. It's simple, really: it wasn't selling. At all. I've therefore cut the price to a more palatable $4.99. And I'm going to keep it there. At $299, sales were modest, as were the commissions. At $7.99, the commissions were better but if you don't sell, you don't earn. And I'm grateful for every single one of them. John Y. Jones. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). John Y. Jones. View my complete profile. A Newbie's Guide to Publishing.

Gerard A. Whitfield: agosto 2011
http://gerardawhitfield.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Gerard A. Whitfield. Lunes, 8 de agosto de 2011. Review of The Prophet of Panamindorah by Abigail Hilton. This is something different. It is well read and works as an Audiobook. I originally listened to her other work - The Guild of The Cowry Catchers - which is set after this trilogy. She has created a unique world, with its own species, yet manages to convey human emotions to her characters. Well done Abigail and I look forward to further books in this series. Gerard A. Whitfield: Review of Tertiary by John Coppinger

Gerard A. Whitfield. Viernes, 1 de julio de 2011. Review of Tertiary by John Coppinger. Another from my Pitch Me! SF Thread. This was a good sample size, unlike a couple of short stories which barely allowed a written sample after the author's notes and preamble. As I said, good promising start, with a believable storyline and characters. Sorting out the scene changes would have raised the mark. THREE AND A HALF out of FIVE from me. Gerard A. Whitfield: Review of Dead Mech by Jake BIble
http://gerardawhitfield.blogspot.com/2011/06/review-of-dead-mech-by-jake-bible.html
Gerard A. Whitfield. Domingo, 26 de junio de 2011. Review of Dead Mech by Jake BIble. This is another story I listened to as an Audiobook. The write-up drew me in with the story line of Mechs, Zombies and Zombies in Mechs. I wasn't sure what a Drabble novel was, and the idea of the book written in 100 word slices kind of raised some questions - as an audiobook it works. Enviar por correo electrónico. Gerard A. Writing the Relics: October 2011
http://buddhasrelics.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 8, 2011. Like many indie novelists, I found my way into independent publishing after my umpteenth legacy rejection and realized that I was better off hanging out my own shingle. In my case, it wasn't so much about trying to make a buck - although the bucks are nice - as it was about taking control of my professional destiny. Go ahead. Want to go it alone? Knock yourself out. It's entirely your decision. And I don't believe in ghosts. John Y. Jones. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Simple tem...
