James R. Banbury. In my free time, I run several wiki pages and forums dedicated to roleplaying games and fiction. I also write and publish game modules for tabletop games. I hope to refine my writing style and be more productive in the future. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. January 20, 2016. ELIC Blog 1 (again) →. 3 thoughts on “ James R. Banbury. Oskars grandfather is still a bit of a mystery. Both of his grandparents seem uniquely troubled and severely in need of some kind of professional mental help, especially his grandfather. So far, this book is troubling and has made me consider how hidden and prevalent mental illness may be in our culture. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. February 16, 2016. Oskar needs help. His obsession with the key, traveling around with Mr. Black should be signs to his mother that something is wrong. We’re never told weather his mother has authorized such a journey. This activity seems like it is helping Mr. Black as suggested by their “invigorating” conversation. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. March 2, 2016. ELIC Blog final →. I hate cats. Cats, water and people who don’t understand radiation. I’m not happy with the way this book seems to be layed out. I know I’ve griped about not reading it in order but I honestly don’t see a strong pattern or timeline between chapters. It seems like the author’s history of the world was whatever he felt like, leaving out large swaths of ACTUAL HISTORY. I could just be a grump. Chernobyl was a bit of a cock up sure but what are they talking about with radioactive meat? April 13, 2016.

Monthly Archives: January 2016. ELIC Blog 1 (again). I empathize with Oskar. His relationship with his father reminds me of my relationship with my grandfather. Their activities were very similar to activities I did when I was his age. My grandfather was a kind of inventor as well, a retired engineer and professor. I look forward to seeing his interactions with other characters and the revealed connection with the mysterious other narrator. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. January 27, 2016.

I feel a bit lost in the woods when I read this chapter. A chapter with multiple stories is not something I am familiar with. Is this something that this author commonly does? Why are they still on Noah a third into the novel? This entry was posted in Uncategorized. March 30, 2016. I know what love is. →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
