Top O' the world! The good ol' days. My 2007 Top O' Michigan Marathon Nationals experience. The worlds toughest outboard race! For years I have drempt of racing Top O'. Until this season, I've never been even remotely close to making it a reality. As this season moved forward, I began to see that it was "do-able". Then, just two weeks before the race, I made a firm decision to "Do- it! In those weeks before our D-day, I was so hectic! I had a lot to do! 1) Cut my runabout transom down and mount my engine.

The good ol' days. The good ol' days. Back in the 70's and 80's I raced with a local boat racing club called N.I.O.R.A. (Northwestern Illinois Outboard Racing Association) . No pictures of me here, most of these pics were scanned. From old club race programs. It was pretty much a run what you brung club. We all had a lot of fun in this easy going club. One thing that really made it exciting is the fact that we raced usually in the main channel of the Mississippi river! We were all having too much fun!
