His Name is Studd. Thursday, October 31, 2013. Movie Advertisements - April 1973. Just a small collection today, this time from the Rocky Mountain News, April 1973. Duo Vision meant the whole film was shot in split screen. Some people love Last Tango, but I have never really been a fan. Brando's character is just so repulsive. Before Star Wars, George Lucas had another huge hit, American Graffiti (1974). Not the best looking ad, but still a remarkable film. Chinatown (1974). Was in a nice little post-punk pop band, The Boys Next Door, with the guys who would later go on to become The Birthday Party. Very young and very raw, they still had a nice funky sound.
