PatchyRose...: February 2015
http://patchyrose-pearl.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 24 February 2015. Last week was half term, so Rosie and I went off to Wales for three days. One of my special blog friends, Jennifer. Moved to a beautiful long barn there last year. After a few months of renovations, it is beyond perfect - a wonderful retreat! We sewed, we lazed in front of log fires, watched films, ate and drank too much, and were generally spoilt rotten :-). PatchyRose...: August 2015
http://patchyrose-pearl.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 3 August 2015. It's all St Louis here. Have you seen the film, 'Meet me in St Louis'? Rosie and I watched it recently, as she will be singing one of the songs in her next singing exam. Her piece is called The Trolley Song, but the theme tune is equally catchy! That has been the backdrop to my recent sewing, using the St Louis. It's the easiest of patterns, almost too much so, as it whips up too fast for you to enjoy the process. However, for a large size quilt top, it's a great project. Four days...

PatchyRose...: November 2014
http://patchyrose-pearl.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, 22 November 2014. Despite my attempt to ban the C word, it is creeping up on us rapidly. This week I made my first attempt at an Artist Trading Card for the Winter Sparkle. Themed swap, organised by Ali. My secret partner commented on the form that she would love something with a Christmas theme, which was easy enough! This month I finally used the lovely charm squares which Carla. I'd picked up an oblong shaped cushion pad ages ago, and finally decided to use the squares and make a cover.

PatchyRose...: December 2014
http://patchyrose-pearl.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, 28 December 2014. Phew, December has been insanely busy! So many parties (not complaining! Carol services, trips to London and a few birthdays - all crammed in before the 25th. Rosie and I squeezed in fifteen of the Paddington bears. It was great fun finding them dotted around London! I even pushed the boat out and added covered buttons. However, she then saw the oblong shaped cushion I made myself, and wanted one of those too. Must admit, I quite enjoyed making these! Sunday, 14 December 2014.

PatchyRose...: July 2015
http://patchyrose-pearl.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, 5 July 2015. Rosie and I are just back from a wonderful weekend in Wales, visiting Jennifer. We talked, sewed, enjoyed fabulous food, pottered round the antique shop and even watched Titanic! The weather was glorious, perfect for the barbecue. Along with croquet, table tennis and boules, we managed to be very productive on the sewing front. I whipped up tissue holders for other teachers and even managed to follow a pattern and make my first dumpling pouch! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

PatchyRose...: Gift giving
http://patchyrose-pearl.blogspot.com/2015/04/gift-giving.html
Friday, 3 April 2015. Thank you so much for all the kind comments about Mount Rose :-) Rosie was thrilled to read your encouragement, and enjoyed feeling part of the blogging community. Her teacher was so supportive and impressed that she sent Rosie off to show the quilt to the head teacher! She's been very fortunate to be in such a nurturing environment. My own sewing lately has been all about gifts. I've now made three mug rugs, following Julie's. 4 April 2015 at 11:56. 6 April 2015 at 03:21. Thrilled ...

PatchyRose...: January 2015
http://patchyrose-pearl.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, 25 January 2015. Has increased dramatically this month! First to be finished, was this simple scarf for Rosie. Made with just one ball of variegated wool, it took a mere 18 months to complete ;-) Knitting is not my forte, and it began as a holiday project. Thankfully it has been worn every day this week, and much admired! My cat quilt, using the Plus design, also reached completion! Sunday, 18 January 2015. A good friend came round and spotted the cushions I'd made Rosie for Christmas. She li...

PatchyRose...: March 2015
http://patchyrose-pearl.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Alternatively titled: The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. This month, Rosie's class were set geography homework. They had to do anything they liked on the topic of mountains - the teacher suggested a model, a picture, or a project. Rosie flew out of school that day, already firmly decided she was making a patchwork quilt ;-). The design was therefore easy, though I quickly realised I have very little sky blue and grass green in my modest stash! I'm such a proud mummy! This w...

PatchyRose...: Spring sewing...
http://patchyrose-pearl.blogspot.com/2015/05/spring-sewing.html
Tuesday, 5 May 2015. Wasn't it great having a Bank holiday weekend? With sunshine thrown in for good measure! I enjoyed plenty of sewing time and a little gardening. Having never made a pincushion, somehow I decided to cut the squares and make six in one go. They look good nestled in the Christmas tree, but had I made a prototype, I would have cut the squares a little bigger! They end up as 4 inches square, which was quite fiddly to sew. However, that's a few gifts ready! 5 May 2015 at 13:02. I made Pete...
