Undercover & Over Land: Smells of India (the good ones!)
http://undercoverandoverland.blogspot.com/2008/01/smells-of-india-good-ones.html
Undercover and Over Land. Tom and Jen's Post-Japan Travels. Wednesday, 16 January 2008. Smells of India (the good ones! In between meals, Tom and I passed the time by reading, having fun-with-cameras, and jumping off the 2nd-level deck into the water. Motoring around in the boat was very peaceful (except for when we went down the narrow canals and kids ran after us shouting, "School pen! The next morning I was almost sad to set foot again on solid land, so pleasant had our little trip been. Tomorrow we l...

Undercover and Over Land. Tom and Jen's Post-Japan Travels. Friday, 28 September 2007. Some snaps of Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, monks debating the meaning of life, Jokhang Palace, Pilgrims. Someone's just found the b&w setting on his camera.rookie). Haha, in response to Cathy's comment in the previous post, it was just a picture of Tom in front of a big panda poster. Unfortunately, we couldn't get close enough to a real panda to take that kind of photo. I like Lhasa a lot. The city itself is n...

Undercover & Over Land: Unexpected
http://undercoverandoverland.blogspot.com/2008/02/unexpected.html
Undercover and Over Land. Tom and Jen's Post-Japan Travels. Wednesday, 6 February 2008. Happy Ash Wednesday, everyone! With all the harassment I have had to put up with from Indian men over the past few months, it very nearly pushed me over the edge! But then I started to do the math and stopped into a shop and asked if there was some sort of festival going on. Turns out that the soaking wasn't a hate crime, but that yesterday was the last day of Carnival! Tom and I sat out the next couple songs as we we...

Undercover & Over Land: November 2007
http://undercoverandoverland.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Undercover and Over Land. Tom and Jen's Post-Japan Travels. Monday, 26 November 2007. We've been up to quite a lot since Tom's last post. Here is the recap. We also made time to check out the City Palace and museum which contained various exhibits on royal costumes, art, and weapons. One of the courtyards showcased a pair of the largest silver vessels in the world that the Maharaja used to take water from the Ganges River to England for someone's coronation (I forget who! Well, maybe not the henna tattoo...

http://undercoverandoverland.blogspot.com/2008/01/life-down-south.html
Undercover and Over Land. Tom and Jen's Post-Japan Travels. Sunday, 6 January 2008. The night train turned into something of an ordeal, but we arrived in Trivandrum in one piece, if a little late and a lot dirty. Finding a place to crash was uncannily easy which was a big relief considering it was 10pm.and for our ten dollars this week we get en suite, room service and cable tv! Where is the potato? 6 January 2008 at 19:41. 6 January 2008 at 19:45. We were wondering who you were! 7 January 2008 at 10:31.

http://undercoverandoverland.blogspot.com/2008/01/rounding-up-and-winding-down.html
Undercover and Over Land. Tom and Jen's Post-Japan Travels. Tuesday, 29 January 2008. Rounding Up and Winding Down. The photo you've all been waiting for - I hope you can all make out the name of this stall:. Anyway, they called us over and after some good hearted banter and a little look at their pet blowfish and helicopter fish we got some hands on fishing experience. But we did feel as though we had earned our supper that night. On our last day in Kochi, Jen and I realised that we have been on the roa...

Undercover and Over Land. Tom and Jen's Post-Japan Travels. Friday, 31 August 2007. Thursday, 30 August 2007. After a brief perusal of the farmer's market yesterday afternoon (chock full of skinned cats, dried rats and half eaten dogs) Jen announced this morning that she is now a vegetarian. So far she is sticking to her guns and she had the stuffed tomatoes for dinner. I will endeavour to keep you all uptodate on the antics of our celery chomping friend. Wednesday, 29 August 2007. yeti patrol: December 2006
http://yetipatrol.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Look at me. Look at me. Wednesday, December 27, 2006. Christmas Day began slowly with my fellow winter time cohorts Nick, Matt and Rob requiring a series of threats to coerce them out of bed which I duly supplied. Despite a little dilly dallying in Sapporo we managed to get on the road by 8am and so it was that with full stomachs and hurting heads we set out on the drive towards the winter. For a lamb shank debacle. Another late night was rounded off by some mince pie action - made possible by young ...

Look at me. Look at me. Monday, August 21, 2006. The Northern Territories and the Right Wing. Last week a Japanese fishing boat strayed into Russian waters in the Nemuro strait near the islands and they came under fire.
