December 2, 2014. Just over 4 years ago, this blog was birthed after my trip to Burundi. I came home from Africa totally wrecked, and the only way I knew how to process what I was feeling was to write. I think I posted every day for about 3 months, and then I got my angst a little under control. Last week, I spent the week in Haiti with 19 other adults and kids, and that angst has flared up again. How can it not? Here you go. Kids need to go to school? But sometimes, God allows us to step in and help.

I’ll admit it. I, at times, like to pontificate. That’s a $10 word my Dad likes to use. But I like to think it’s for a good cause. I’ve been blessed to see things both near and far, and I feel God has given me a platform to speak of these things and make a difference. So forgive me if I have stepped on your toes. When it’s grey. December 8, 2014. If you live in Charlotte you are seeing the same sky I am today. Grey. Gloomy. Cold. Not exactly an inviting “get out there and conquer the world today” kind of sky. I think this sky reflects how my heart feels today. Will I ever get there? Will Christ – and nothing else – ever be enough for me? But God speaks to my heart in these dark moments.
