It’s hard to believe we are this far along already and also hard to believe we have more than half way to go! I’m also excited to see the baby again now that it looks like a baby and not just a blob like the first one. I am a Wife, Dog Mom and now mama to be. I have a love for anything vintage, hand embroidery, DIY, travel, Beaver football, and red wine. Laquo; Previous post.

Hedge Apples – Out Standing In My Field

Out Standing In My Field. My Life In The Kentucky Countryside. October 30, 2015. October 25, 2015. According to the University of Illinois Extension website. Hedge apples are produced by the Osage-orange tree (. The tree itself is pretty non-descript and, if I didn’t just see the fruit growing on it, I would have passed it right by. What are these good for, you ask? Likin’ the Lichen. 2 thoughts on “ Hedge Apples. October 30, 2015 at 11:07 am. We have these in our yard, I never knew what they were! You a...

Big Rigs 'n Lil' Cookies: August 2015
http://www.bigrigsnlilcookies.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 27, 2015. Things seem to be slowing down a bit in our world, although I am sure it is just a lull between seasons. Our garden did absolutely outstanding this year. I contribute a big part of that success to Truckin' Man. With him not being over the road trucking anymore, he was able to help out a fair amount and that really helped keep the weeds minimized. We had so many vegetables, I finally made the investment in a Foodsaver. All the peppers sliced up, ready for fajitas. I am absolutel...

Retired Guy In The Pacific Northwest. Tuesday, February 19, 2013. OK Here's the deal. Family members are getting rich writing about clothes and accessories made from leather and cotton, or about the thousands of ways to buy mineral oil, soap, and perfume with whizbang names like Shazamm. 48-hour body lotion or POOF! Hair slicker-downer and fake shine oil. Right after my nap! Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Getting Back To HTML. Activating The Ancient Brain. Hang in there with me - this will not be interest...

Big Rigs 'n Lil' Cookies: November 2014
http://www.bigrigsnlilcookies.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. Still a bit of November Weather. Last weekend we had a bit of a thaw. The temperatures rose, and the snow melted. It was really nice to take a walk outside without all my layers. I took a stroll out back to check our wood supply. Not nearly enough, so Truckin' Man is going to be spending some time cutting this week. Hazel loves to follow along with me, and always stops to scratch on a slab of wood. Then chickens were THRILLED to be out and not have the winds pushing them around.

Big Rigs 'n Lil' Cookies: Grace's Baked Beans
http://www.bigrigsnlilcookies.com/2015/08/graces-baked-beans.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. So much of my baking and cooking inspiration comes from other bloggers. While I spend plenty of time on Pinterest, Yummly (my new favorite), or flipping through cookbooks, if there is a something specific I am looking for, I often head to my favorite bloggers sites. I ended up finding something new and different (to me anyway) at A Southern Grace. We loved this recipe, and I can't tell you how many times we have made it since. We have tweaked it a bit to suit our taste. Adapted ...

Monday, October 13, 2014. Fresh Apple Cake with Honey Glaze. Then this past weekend happened. We were meeting some friends for a picnic, and I wanted to make a dessert. I had all these great apples from the orchard, so I pulled up a recipe I had pinned a long time ago, and whipped it up with no expectations other than being delicious. Guess what? It is darn close to the cake I had been trying to replicate! E (Source: Paula Deen. 3 cups diced apples. 1 cup pecans, toasted. 3 cups all-purpose flour. Add al...
