Thursday, January 29, 2009. Ice, Ice Baby. I don't know how many of you have been following the news, but Kentucky has been under a severe winter storm warning since Monday night. Luckily, Mount Vernon was not hit too hard. The only thing we lost was our internet for two days. We have had a bit of ice and then yesterday we got some snow! Thursday, July 30, 2009. On Tuesday we had our school readiness distribution, so this was the day that all of the families came to pick up their backpacks, goodies, and assorted clothing. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. One of the fun parts of living in a new place is picking up local terms and phrases. For instance, locals often say some variation of "Lord have mercy" when they are a little overwhelmed or flabbergasted; most often that variation is "Lawdy mercy.". Well, suffice to say I'm home and safe, and so sadly there will be more posts made on Jessica in Kerala, unless I switch it over to Jessica in St. Paul.
