Erm, I'm never really sure what should be on a page like this, but I somehow feel like I. To have one. So, here it is. The picture above is from my trip to Alaska. While I was there, I hiked on a glacier and felt very explorer-like. I love to write, especially about topics that are important in my life. My blog contains snippets of random writing and thoughts on religion. Older writings on religion (very out of date) can be found here. I took six sessions from ClayWays. Much more amusing and proper.

Privacy versus living transparently - Jonobie's Published Thoughts

http://jonobie.livejournal.com/84083.html

Privacy versus living transparently. May 11th, 2010 at 7:46 PM. I just went back through my old journal entries and unlocked several of them with the following note: [Edit: Unlocked during my 5/10/2010 unlocking pass, since enough time has passed to obscure identifying details.] I've been thinking a lot recently about privacy and my online identity, and unlocking older entries is one result. Not less. I'm not so sure. Odd thing is, I've realized that as I get older, I'm getting more open. The Romans [&#4...

Jonobie's Published Thoughts

http://jonobie.livejournal.com/tag/running

61:22 - Dawg Dash 10K. Oct 18th, 2009 at 7:13 PM. Before I was a serious runner, there were two things I didn't understand about running:. Why do marathoners sometimes run themselves into the ground, literally, in trying to finish the race, and. Why do track runners always seem to be vomiting after their race? I suppose both of these could be rephrased as, "Why are runners such. I was hurt until I had finished the race. If youre eating, or have a queasy stomach, best skip right past this next part. A rec...

Starting MobiMOOC - Jonobie's Published Thoughts

http://jonobie.livejournal.com/84641.html

Apr 4th, 2011 at 1:16 PM. I just joined a Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) about mobile learning, a particular interest of mine. (Short definition of mLearning: How do we teach people things using mobile devices? What's a MOOC, you ask? I had the exact same question. Watch a quick 4-minute white board-style video. The course is called MobiMOOC. About how to navigate MOOCs. From the video, I clearly was correct that one component is posting thoughts and ideas in your own blog about the course (Step #2 of...

Resolutions and Joe's Goals - Jonobie's Published Thoughts

http://jonobie.livejournal.com/49600.html

Resolutions and Joe's Goals. Dec 20th, 2006 at 12:57 PM. I recently stumbled on a cute application called Joe's Goals. And have been using it to track my New Year's resolutions and smaller goals. It's set as one of my bookmarks in my Daily Links folder in Firefox, so when I use the Open All in Tabs feature, it automatically pops up as part of my daily reading. Nuff said. I want to run the Olympia marathon in May, and to get there, I need to do this. This one is hard to explain, but involves doing. Usuall...

Christmas Crafting - Jonobie's Published Thoughts

http://jonobie.livejournal.com/71666.html

Nov 17th, 2008 at 7:03 PM. I have fond memories of having Advent calendars to count down to Christmas, and for the past couple of years, I've seen some really beautiful hand-crafted versions in the craft blogs ( here. Or this adorable Halloween Calendar, here. Also on the craft blogs, I saw a suggestion to fill the calendar with activities. Instead of candy. I love this idea, as it seems both more appropriate for the spirit of Christmas and much healthier than daily candy. 6 comments Leave a comment.

Three year anniversary of resolutions on Livejournal - Jonobie's Published Thoughts

http://jonobie.livejournal.com/72363.html

Three year anniversary of resolutions on Livejournal. Jan 14th, 2009 at 11:23 AM. It's interesting to see resolutions from years past, and to note they haven't changed all that much. I started in 2007. With "Exercise", "Take Risks", and "Maintain contact", and in 2008. I swapped exercise with "Spend time learning". "Spend time learning" was a worthy idea, but it was too vague to actually cause significant change to my behavior. I still use Joe's Goals. Anyhow, this year's 3 resolutions are:. This moves f...

Adrenaline can carry you four miles... - Jonobie's Published Thoughts

http://jonobie.livejournal.com/52095.html

Adrenaline can carry you four miles. Mar 25th, 2007 at 12:18 PM. I renewed my affair. With Mercer Island this morning for the Mercer Island half marathon. It was fantastic. I think the half marathon distance is becoming a favorite distance of mine. No official time yet, but I was around 2:44. It was fantastic. I kept passing people after that, and eventually worked my way forward enough that I didn't see her anymore. I think I ended up ahead of around 10-14 people by the end. 7 comments Leave a comment.

Jamie's Journey

Sunday, February 20, 2011. This is my week off. All I can say is I am very glad Saturday is over. Day three after chemo is the worst day for me. Saturday was day three. I could not move, really. Jim spent the day walking up and down the hall away asking me do you need a drink? I have a CT scan scheduled for Wednesday, Feb 23. I will call for results on Thursday and hopefully get good news. Wednesday, February 9, 2011. They came home today. Friday, January 21, 2011. My sister Frances made me a new hat and...
