Sharing. - J. Huffman, Editrix
http://jhuffman.weebly.com/1/post/2011/02/sharing.html
J Huffman, Editrix. Editrix, at your service. I have "met" a whole bunch of new authors/people, and continue to progress in working toward my ultimate goal of becoming a full-time paid editrix. Slowly but surely, piece by piece. If they never hear it. I encourage but I can't rightfully distribute, which to me is kind of a shame. I'd love to have you all listen, and hear, and. I feel lucky to be one of the individuals with your husband's music on my iPod. :). You are one lucky ducky! Great info, thx.
Shameful. - J. Huffman, Editrix

J Huffman, Editrix. Editrix, at your service. There's been a lot of hullabaloo about the Cooks Source "editor" that plagiarized an article and then had the audacity to inform the original author that it had been improved upon and that the author should pay them. Here's a link to a short article from Gizmodo that explains it better than I could: http:/ gizmodo.com/5681714/attention-the-web-is-not-public-domain. So my first thought on this whole mess? Or any number of other unpleasant things to befall her.

Has it really been so long? - J. Huffman, Editrix
http://jhuffman.weebly.com/1/post/2011/01/has-it-really-been-so-long.html
J Huffman, Editrix. Editrix, at your service. Has it really been so long? I find that I have sadly neglected my little part of the blogosphere - I'm sure that everyone is waiting with baited breath for my next words of wisdom, no? If that's the case, I suppose I should provide an update for my adoring fans. Back to Peter, which took far longer than it ever should have (again, Mr. Smalley, if you're reading this, your patience is appreciated deeply! Which is about 1,000 shades of awesome. I hope you'l...

Kindling Press: June 2012
http://kindlingpress.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 25, 2012. We live in a black well of interconnectedness. Does that sound like a contradiction? This is why writers go on retreats. Being off the grid is a tremendously liberating experience. I highly recommend any creative person makes a regular practice of it. There is nothing like the absolute freedom of gazing from one side of the horizon to the other and seeing not a single living soul. And what follows is a burst of creative energy unlike any other you have experienced.

Friday, August 31, 2012. The Next Project (Jason's first post in *how* long? I'm thinking something shorter than a novel. I've got an agent to sell those now; what I want is something I can publish myself, put out and sell right away. (The money's nice on traditional publishing. The waiting isn't.) I've got a few ideas, one that I'm working on with Peter is to put together a pair or trio of novellas with a particular (perhaps secret? I think I like that plan. I think I'm on it. Labels: work in progress.

Monday, October 31, 2011. Truly, though, I don't object. Happy Halloween, and all that. Enjoy it, if you're able to do so on a Monday, or if you already did over the weekend. I'll be sitting at home, having some dinner, probably watching Cabaret because Netflix sent it along. Inappropriate, I know. Maybe we'll dig up a horror movie we can watch instantly? Happy Halloween in any case. Friday, October 28, 2011. You Yes, you. You're awesome. 20,001: A Steampunk Odyssey. Or you may be here because you want t...

Kindling Press: October 2012

Thursday, October 18, 2012. Wrote a novella. Myth of Orpheus, but Eurydice is a guy, and it's set in something like Japan, and maybe it gets a happy ending? Often, we'll say often. It's a nice little piece of work, 27000 words, took a week to write, will take a couple months to clean up and get ready. I'm happy I did it. Now, what next? CAUTION: Work in Progress. Work in Progress Challenge. 1 What is the title of your Work In Progress? Oh, fine, I'll pick just one: Marginalia. When Alethea Three finds a ...

Friday, October 12, 2012. Ain't gonna be no crumpets and tea. Ain't gonna be no crumpets and tea, coz. Writin' ain't easy. Ain't gonna get no easier neither. Always gonna be hard. Always gonna be a struggle. Live that. Breathe it. Write it down, then go back and write it down better. You do that, you get better. Kindling Press: Last Voyage of the John Darling
http://kindlingpress.blogspot.com/p/last-voyage-of-john-darling.html
Last Voyage of the John Darling. When I was finished writing Never. I wondered, and so did my test readers, what happened after. And so this coda was born, which is one thing that might have happened. There are probably other possibilities, so if you don't like this one much, feel free to disregard it. Last Voyage of the John Darling. Somewhere in the vast ocean behind me, my Uncle Michael had vanished. Somewhere in that wide sea, the divine madness had taken claim of him, and wiped him off the Earth.

Wednesday, January 25, 2012. The Process of Writing, Part 2: Research and Development. You've got your concept now. The idea that will let you play in the gardens of your own mind. That's just great, isn't it? Where did they live, and when? Where do they go? This is where research and development come in, the first hard part of writing a book. Who are your characters? In Chicago, or Australia, or on a plane, or in a magical kingdom? Right now, or 1840, or "a long time ago", or the future? And then I can ...

Wednesday, February 1, 2012. The Problem with Fantasy. Quick quiz: someone says they're reading a fantasy novel, but doesn't tell you anything else. What do you think about? Heroes going on a quest or fighting some evil, right? Kings and kingdoms, swords and horses, nobles in castles, grim forests and high snowy mountains. And all of that would be more right than wrong, because typically English-language fantasy exists in a very particular place: 14th century Northern Europe. More distinct inspirations: ...

J Huffman, Editrix. Editrix, at your service. A unique thought, please? So a short twitter conversation with the ever-so-delightful @ GeekShui. Got me thinking about my incredibly irrational but wholly gigantic loathing for reblogging. What is reblogging, you ask? From my short and underwhelming experience with it, reblogging is as follows:. 1) Find something interesting on the internet that someone else produced. An article, picture, video, what-have-you. 5) Wash, rinse, repeat. Hard to distinguish myse...
