Livin the Hike Life. This is a family oriented guide to hiking and staying fit in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Follow me on Twitter. Colby is my 11 year old son. He will be giving his opinion of our hikes from an 11-year-old's perspective. Barclay Lake is a great hike for kids. It is only 4 miles round trip and does not have a high elevation gain. The scenery is great. Big trees, streams, and lots of roots. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). On the Way Home. You Might Also Like.

http://kathyjustkeepsrunning.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 12, 2013. Don't call it a comeback. It's been almost a year! Wow - excuse me for the overly long hiatus! I can't believe it has been so long since I've posted. I've been reading, but life got in the way of posting and, and, well, you know how that goes. I have, however, done a little bit of running. So, as my comeback post of 2013, I'll hit you up with a running related "5 for Friday" recapping my running life in the last year. As you may recall, I spent 2012. In March I tackled the 1...

Just Keep Running: 2011 Hippie Chick half marathon race report
http://kathyjustkeepsrunning.blogspot.com/2011/05/2011-hippie-chick-half-marathon-race.html
Monday, May 9, 2011. 2011 Hippie Chick half marathon race report. On Sunday, 4 friends and I treked out to Hillsboro to run the Hippie Chick 1/2 marathon. The Hippie Chick used to be held out at Champoeg park, but as Champoeg is small and the race is really popular they moved the race out to the Hillsboro stadium this year to accomodate more people. I've never run the race prior to this year, so I can't compare the venues. Score one for hippie chicks! Halfway through mile 6, the quarter milers split off ...

Livin the Hike Life. This is a family oriented guide to hiking and staying fit in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Follow me on Twitter. Riley is my 9-year old son. He will be giving his opinion of our hikes from a 9-year-old's perspective. I liked this hike because there were very good views from up high and there were little streams going through the rocks as you got higher. There were a lot of stairs and it is very rocky and steep. There are also a lot of chipmunks. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://runningisalife.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Running is a Life. Monday, April 30, 2012. So on my loosely NON-training schedule I have reached my last few days before my half marathon. Yes I did not want to plan too much for this race. I am still coming back from the stress fracture and I am no Emily. When it comes to come backs! So I did the 10% increase from my 6week no running and built up to 13miles. Here's to hoping to nice weather on Saturday! QOTD: Do you race with a handheld? How far of a race is too short/long to carry a handheld? So I went...
