The doctor said I will continue to improve over the next weeks and months. Basically I have 80% of my vision by the second day, 90% within the first few weeks and 100% over the next few months. I then wa...

An OkieGal in Kansas: Turning a Corner
http://okiegal-in-ks.blogspot.com/2014/11/turning-corner.html
An OkieGal in Kansas. Friday, November 7, 2014. Week 10 is coming to an end, and I'm finding that while they are small, little shifts are occurring in my life as it relates to health and fitness. We have had guests over the last few days, and so I haven't been as diligent with my workouts as I usually am. If I'm honest, that's just fancy talk for using it as an excuse. Instead of being sore because of my workouts, I was actually sore from not having done one in a few days. All the best,. I post a link on...

An OkieGal in Kansas. Friday, January 16, 2015. All these thoughts have me asking questions of others that are also working on their fitness journey. The questions I asked them are: Is it possible that the love of working out will never click, and it is something that I will always be forcing myself to do? When did it click for you? Did you have to find a passion? All the best,. Tuesday, January 6, 2015. The Year of Following Through. It's amazing how just taking little actions toward the goal can help g...

An OkieGal in Kansas: May 2012
http://okiegal-in-ks.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
An OkieGal in Kansas. Friday, May 4, 2012. I am doing Warrior Dash tomorrow and wanted to make my own themed shirt. This was so simple, cheap, and took less than 30 minutes! You need a shirt that bleach will work to lighten the color on, cardboard, a small amount of bleach, paint brush, scissors, and tape. I first found the image I wanted, printed it out and taped it down on the shirt as a stencil. I then put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt (so it won't bleed through to the back).

An OkieGal in Kansas: September 2014
http://okiegal-in-ks.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
An OkieGal in Kansas. Thursday, September 25, 2014. This post is the hardest to write so far. It's not that I don't have anything to say, it's that there's so much to say. It's that I'm not sure any words I can find will do it justice. Yet here I sit, knowing that I need to at least try to put it out there. This woman is a pillar of strength. While fighting her own battle she has also had to power through losing her mother not even 2 years ago, and losing her father less than a week ago. While we...I am ...

http://okiegal-in-ks.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
An OkieGal in Kansas. Friday, April 6, 2012. I have had pictures from when I made this recipe on my phone for several weeks. Now I am finally posting it! We love these, and they make great left overs as well! In order to make the Meat Pie recipe, you will first need the Savory Pie Dough recipe. 2 cups warm water. 1 package active dry yeast. 1/4 cup vegetable oil. Pat a little butter or oil over dough to prevent crusting. Cover with plastic sheet, then tea towel. Let rest in a warm place for 30-40 minutes.
