The Green Hills of Africa. One Summer in Equatorial Guinea. August 14, 2009. Fire in the Sky. Posted by Jim under Updates. 14 de Agosto 2009. What will become of this nation when the last drop of oil is extracted from the Gulf of Guinea? Ok, I apologize for how this entry probably sounds like a political or economic policy paper. I don’t mean to bore everyone, but these issues really are important, as dry as they may be to discuss. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. From your own site.

The Green Hills of Africa. One Summer in Equatorial Guinea. August 18, 2009. Posted by Jim under Updates. 19 de Agosto 2009. Of course. But something about finding them on my own makes them feel more authentic they were the real stories waiting to be found, rather than then the oft-reported typical Equatoguinean experience that could have been quickly and easily repackaged. We have those problems here at home. It is true; you don’t have to go to Africa to learn about such things. You don’t. The whole ide...

The Green Hills of Africa. One Summer in Equatorial Guinea. June 29, 2009. Posted by Jim under Updates. Well, here we go! June 9, 2009. Three more weeks of the good life. Posted by Jim under Updates. In exactly three weeks I’ll be flying from Cleveland to New York City for my final night in the U.S. before I leave for Africa. And as if I am trying to make the culture shock as painful as possible, I’ll be leaving at the end of this week for an old-fashioned Florida vacation with family and friends&#...

Inside, there are hardly any comforts or entertainment, so I am not surprised to see that they spend their time outside. The women have rounded forms, perfect voluptuous curves, an ova...

And have a couple draft-y pages of my paper going! This morning, tina and her boyfriend got into london for the weekend and we're going to meet up tomorrow afternoon!

Marianne in London: roadtrip ireland part 2: roots, rocks, and roisin

http://marianneinlondon.blogspot.com/2009/08/roadtrip-ireland-part-2-roots-rocks-and.html

Roadtrip ireland part 2: roots, rocks, and roisin. Morning, after a tour of the kilkenny. Castle, which as far as we could tell was home to some irish. Traitors who kept siding with the English king and doing things like smuggling the future king charles. I should mention, however, that before doing this, we discovered that the irish. Aren't into football or rugby as much as they are obsessed with hurling. it took us a while to translate hurling from an irish. Accent to an american. We got a lot. After w...

Roadtrip ireland part 1: cars, castles, and concerts. Following my parent's heading back home in time for my mom to have her first day of the school, katie. And i also headed west. but not quite as far. we hopped a plane from london. To start our weekend roadtrip. When we arrived in ireland. We were greeted by a less-than-optimistic customs worker, who basically informed us that we were a) crazy b) probably going to die and c) dumb for planning to undertake this route. Concept of the roadtrip. Roads woul...

One Summer, One Country. June 30, 2009. Posted by Becca under Uncategorized. The courtyard at the Auberge Casafrique. Anyway, Ziguinchor has a much wider variety of animal life. On the dirt road between my hostel and the main road, there is a hen with about 8 chicks…they are super cute and now I can actually say that I’ve seen a chicken cross the road. She waited calmly until no traffic was coming and then she crossed…it was amazing! June 29, 2009. Posted by Becca under Uncategorized. I do have a mosquit...
