The cars have gone-hooray! | Our French Adventure
https://kathandroger.wordpress.com/2015/07/30/the-cars-have-gone-hooray
Starting a new life in the heart of rural France. July 30, 2015. The cars have gone-hooray! Sculptures and found their way into my workshop, but on the whole nothing was worth pinching! Now everyone to his trade, but I could not help but admire the skills of the crane operator, plucking heavy objects from difficult spots and dumping them accurately into the trailers, often very close to the power lines. He even stopped to let Kath fetch her camera and paused when she found the card was full! I can imagin...

Any Old Cheese? | Fete a Manger
https://feteamanger.wordpress.com/2010/12/13/any-old-cheese
Just another WordPress.com site. Hello, for my very first posting I thought I’d start with a look at AOC labels and especially a local one here in the Touraine. You will most likely have come across AOC on bottles of wine but In fact it was only in 1935 that the French Ministry of Agriculture gave the name and applied AOC labelling to wines. The certification system predates wines by some 500 years when Roquefort cheese was first regulated by parliamentary decree in the 15. A word of caution here, don’t ...
Supermarkets – a cautionary tale | Fete a Manger
https://feteamanger.wordpress.com/2011/01/05/supermarkets-a-cautionary-tale
Just another WordPress.com site. Supermarkets – a cautionary tale. In a previous blog. I stated that I will use supermarkets as the last rather than the first resort. The arguments in Britain against the ever increasing tidal wave of supermarkets are pretty well understood and supported particularly by the Guardian reading types (OK I admit it, that includes me). In France a first glance would suggest that things are different with many names to choose from and much more local and seasonal produce. You a...
Christmas Bubbly | Fete a Manger
https://feteamanger.wordpress.com/2011/01/04/christmas-bubbly
Just another WordPress.com site. Armed with the Hachette Guide a group of us went off in search of some sparkling wine to drink over the Christmas period. The locals here hold Montlouis wines in high esteem. Montlouis is on the south side of the river Cher, opposite Vouvray, its more famous wine producing neighbour. Like Vouvray, Montlouis wines come in still and sparkling varieties and use the Chenin Blanc grape. We stopped at Domaine L’Entre Coeurs. It was all good but the best of the bunch was the pet...
Christmas Menu ~ Touraine, 2010 | Fete a Manger
https://feteamanger.wordpress.com/2011/01/06/christmas-menu-touraine-2010
Just another WordPress.com site. Christmas Menu Touraine, 2010. My mum has asked me to write about our Christmas meal so here it is. There were six of us this year as we were joined by our French friend and great musician, Patrice Arnould. And his gift to us? As we rolled into the sofa’s by the fire, bellies full, he took out his Pandora (a type of medieval lute) and sang to us. Perfect, and you couldn’t make it up! And so to our Christmas Day menu:. Seared Foie Gras with Poached Quinces and Maury Sirop.

A Christian Dramatist known as:. With a deftness born of talent and sweat, he will lead his audience. With only a movement of his body, a change in his voice, or a pacing of his words,. He will control the emotions of those present. Tears and Laughter, Sorrow and Joy, Victory and Defeat. Seem to come at his bidding. McNiel is a vocational evangelist. But one with a difference! Instead of preaching sermons,. He quotes whole books of the Bible. He will in dramatic fashion recite a complete book .
