The South Street Shed Brewery: December 2012
http://brewingshed.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
The South Street Shed Brewery. Beer - So Much More Than a Breakfast Drink. Tuesday, 11 December 2012. So it is that time of year again. Golden pints is a concept dreamt up by Mark Dredge and Andy Mogg and it is a good time to reflect on what's been good about beer, pubs and the like throughout the year. Best UK Draught Beer -. Tap East Coffee in The Morning (well I would say that, I helped brew the first batch). Best UK Bottled or Canned Beer -. Best Overseas Draught Beer -. Epic Beer Coffee and Fig Stout.

The South Street Shed Brewery: AG #69 Dark Mayhem
http://brewingshed.blogspot.com/2012/10/ag-69-dark-mayhem.html
The South Street Shed Brewery. Beer - So Much More Than a Breakfast Drink. Saturday, 20 October 2012. AG #69 Dark Mayhem. So, I've not blogged for three months. I've got so many things to say; some I can tell you about, others you'll just have to wait and see. I've been using motueka hops for bittering as I came across a large (cheap) stash of them but the main flavour will come from 4 flowers of star anise popped in the boil 15 minutes from the end Anyway, here are some pictures. The South Street Shed Brewery: Increasing The Insulation of my Mash Tun
http://brewingshed.blogspot.com/2011/03/increasing-insulation-of-my-mash-tun.html
The South Street Shed Brewery. Beer - So Much More Than a Breakfast Drink. Saturday, 12 March 2011. Increasing The Insulation of my Mash Tun. The roll of insulation, MT on its side and the "hat". As things stand my mash tun is simply insulated by a double skin of bubble wrap and a blanket but I was losing a couple of degrees an hour so definitely time for an upgrade. The onset of winter and not after but that's me I'm afraid. Incidentally today's recipe has been inspired by Mark Dredg's "Regular Beer".

The South Street Shed Brewery: Is this the answer to sediment in the bottle?
http://brewingshed.blogspot.com/2010/08/is-this-answer-to-sediment-in-bottle.html
The South Street Shed Brewery. Beer - So Much More Than a Breakfast Drink. Tuesday, 24 August 2010. Is this the answer to sediment in the bottle? Sediment in home brewed beer has been an issue for donkeys years. As I'm sure most of you know, it is by product of secondary fermentation and cannot easily be avoided. Until now perhaps. A product called Brodies, widely used in Australia, comprises a sediment trap and bottle cap. Which explains things much better. Do you prefer sediment in the bottle? Leave a ...

The South Street Shed Brewery: Test Brew Evaluations
http://brewingshed.blogspot.com/2012/12/test-brew-evaluations.html
The South Street Shed Brewery. Beer - So Much More Than a Breakfast Drink. Saturday, 8 December 2012. I've been brewing brewing like a bit of a madman of late. Partly due to getting enough beer in stock for Christmas and partly due to a number of test brews I'm doing for a new venture that those of you who follow me on Twitter will be aware of. It's fair to say that the coffee stout. And the Dark Mayhem. On the other hand the toasted coconut porter. Posted by Sean Ayling. Kent's Newest Homebrew Store.

Brewing Resources (and a hint at EXCELLENT news). Comments Off on Brewing Resources (and a hint at EXCELLENT news). Although I’m young in my brewing experience, I’m old enough to know that many, many people are much more experienced than I am. I’m making good beer, mind you, but there’s always someone who knows more than I do. So, for those that like to brew, here are some resources I highly recommend:. Brew Like a Monk. The Microbrewers’ Handbook. Yeast: The Practical Guide to Beer Fermentation. By Chri...
