Ian Hunter - Scottish Author - Short Stories - Roam Albino Vampire. Welcome to my "Links" page. I'm sure I'll add more links as time goes by, but we've got quite enough to be going on with for now, thank you very much. The sharp-eye among you will note that this page has been heavily influenced by the layout (stolen shamelessly, that means) of the links page in Jim Steel's Cave of Doom. Site, but, heck, he's a fellow Glasgow SF Writers Circle member and won't mind, I'm sure. Reunited, as they sang on the...

Strange fiction and jelly swimming pools. July 24, 2015. But it doesn’t end at the hammer! To make one little bushcraft knife took us about 8 hours. We had to grind the edges down, sharpen the blade, temper the cutting edge, burn on the handle and then shape it, polish it up, make a leather sheath, and lots of other steps that makes me head spin. It gave me so much respect for the time and cost of handcrafted items. 2 responses ». November 10, 2015 at 1:47 am. Probably influenced my first attempt at a fa...

It Doesn't Have To Be Right...: Science Fiction is the literature of the future
http://justhastobeplausible.blogspot.com/2009/12/science-fiction-is-literature-of-future.html
It Doesn't Have To Be Right. It just has to sound plausible. Friday, 4 December 2009. Science Fiction is the literature of the future. And by that I don't mean that science fiction is stories set. At this moment in time, in purely commercial terms, taking the genre as a whole, fantasy is outselling science fiction. Mark Charan Newton gives some reasons why on his blog here. But that means what, exactly? That sf is at risk? And 1960s - the Apollo programme! So sf is no longer a monolithic genre or culture...

It Doesn't Have To Be Right. It just has to sound plausible. Wednesday, 9 December 2009. Having my mind melded. Sf Signal asked a bunch of people for their picks of the top five genre books, films and television of 2009. I was one of those people, and you can see my response here. My best of the year post should appear in a couple of weeks - I don't think I'll do it early because I still have a few books lined up for which I have high hopes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our communities are struggling. The central theme - a lack of funding. Be it the high cost of water, declining property values, support for our fixed and low income seniors, bad roads, school truancy, drug-related crime, fire danger, shelter for our veterans and youth or any of the social issues in plain sight - funding is key and that means fixing Clear Lake, our economic centerpiece.
