Jennifer Lee Designs: Tribal

I have always been fascinated with African textiles and pattern. The colours, shapes and materials used are so beautiful that I wanted to try and re-create my own tribal designs. In doing this, I had also hoped that by the end of the project I would have created something that I would personally be happy to use myself. I have only recently just gone onto the Harrods website to see what they had up in their shopper bag/ handbag ranges. As I worked with them last year on a summer internship I assisted on some of the designs that were launched for A/W 2012. I was very excited to find that a few of the bags I helped with are actually up online and in store to buy. This project was based on the idea of Journeys. My first thought was growth which lead me to the growth of people. I took this idea quite literally and created a collection on Foetus'. I have a fascination with babies so this subject was very fitting for me, and therefore knew I'd have lots of ideas. The concept is rather unusual but I wanted to create something beautiful from a subject matter that wouldn't have really been attempted before. Below are examples of my final 10 designs and their room sets.
