Family Affairs

Sunday, December 20, 2009. Millie had fun walking around and finding sticks outside Granny and Grandpa's House. A regular explorer. We had a family photo taken at Granny and Grandpa's house. Millie and Rebecca wore these jolly red dresses. Here's Millie wandering off set. Millie and Rebecca were both around last year for Thanksgiving so although this wasn't their first, it was their first Thanksgiving dinner. Millie particularly enjoyed wearing Rebecca's pilgrim hat. Both girls enjoyed the delicious feast.

Family Affairs: May 2009

http://www.joandmatt.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. A trip to the zoo was foiled by inclement weather, so instead we took advantage of free Tuesdays at the Museum of Contemporary Art. There was a great exhibit with lots of lights and colours, just the thing for a rainy Tuesday. Millie and Nuala contemplate one of the pieces. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. All the way to 11. Sunday, May 10, 2009. We walked along the lake and back through Lincoln Park. Millie had fun on the grass. Friday, May 8, 2009. Thursday, May 7, 2009. To visit half way ...

Family Affairs: July 2009

Saturday, July 25, 2009. Another pair of shoes outgrown meant a trip to the shops for us this afternoon. Millie was pleased with her new shoes and much to our amusement insisted on carrying the bag home. Here we are two months after Millie took her first step and she's finally walking in preference to crawling. It's quite something to behold. Her style is all her own, and it gets her from A to B, but it does make us smile. This is her strutting her stuff on the beach last week. Saturday, July 4, 2009.

Family Affairs: Tinkling the Ivories

http://www.joandmatt.blogspot.com/2009/12/tinkling-ivories.html

Sunday, December 20, 2009. It was off to New Hampshire for Thanksgiving. Leaving on Tuesday and coming back on Saturday made for pain-free travel. Millie and Daddy made beautiful music together on Granny and Grandpa's piano. What a duo! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We're living in Chicago and are proud parents to our toddler, Millie! Family Affairs: October 2009

http://www.joandmatt.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 31, 2009. A great gift from Granny Foemmel prompted this. Wow indeed! Here's Millie doing a very wobbly, splashy run through the fountain at Grant Park a few months ago. Friday, October 30, 2009. Today was dress up day at school. Millie and the friends in her class all put their outfits on and walked around the school. It was hot work in that monkey suit! Lego with Grandpa Foemmel. All ready to go in the lobby. Family snap outside the aquarium. Slide, penguin, slide! Up to the ankles.

The Brent Adventures: January 2008

http://thebrents.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 21, 2008. I'm so excited because this evening we get to see The National. I happened to come across an article in Time Out. Mentioning that they will be playing at Recital Hall as part of the Sydney Festival. These guys have quickly risen to become one of my very favorite bands (thanks, James and Amanda! And I'm thrilled to be able to see them perform live. You need to check them out. My wife is a big fan." She then asks, "A big fan of Clogs or The National? Posted by Anne and Chris.

The Brent Adventures: February 2008

http://thebrents.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 25, 2008. This weekend we head to the Blue Mountains! Well, sorta hard. I knock the windshield wipers at least 30 times reaching for the turn signal. And, while I swear from the right-hand driver's seat that I am in the dead center of the lane, I'm actually kissing the curb on the left. It's a very strange feeling. Chris decides to be the brave one and gets behind the wheel for the 2-hour drive into the mountains. There is a sort of swing/hammock contraption, several lounge chairs, a bar...

Friday, July 11, 2008. Kiwis in the Outback. Wow We only have a month left before our big adventure ends. I can't believe it. In this time my brother-in-law had gotten married, two of my best friends have had babies and my brother is well on his way to graduating college, yet it's gone by so quickly and Chris and I can't believe our time here is coming to an end. We leave for New Zealand today for two weeks and will be living in a campervan(! Love, Anne and Chris. Posted by Anne and Chris. We will be her...

The Brent Adventures: Burpees and bear crawls

http://thebrents.blogspot.com/2008/04/burpees-and-bear-crawls.html

Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Burpees and bear crawls. It's a love/hate relationship. This all came about because over the past few months, we've noticed a peculiar outdoor group fitness phenomenon - people charging at each other with boxing gloves, throwing around medicine balls, etc. It's everywhere. We were curious and agreed it might be good to try something other than running - I believe this is called "cross training". I get up the next morning instantly sad and flabby? Our next session begins on Monday.

The Brent Adventures: Zoo zombies

http://thebrents.blogspot.com/2008/05/zoo-zombies.html

Saturday, May 24, 2008. It's been awhile since I've posted anything, but we've been whipping around the States and just got back last week after a whirlwind trip that included stops to Chicago, Iowa, Arkensas and finally Kansas City, for Jeff and Sarah's beautiful wedding. Phew! Naturally, we arrive completely jet-lagged and decide it makes perfect sense to go to the zoo. Who wouldn't? Did it have a duckbill? Maybe there's a picture. Posted by Anne and Chris. The Brent Adventures: June 2008

http://thebrents.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 6, 2008. Okay, so we made it to Tasmania and YES the devil really does exist! This is a long post, but there's so much to write about! A few weeks ago we went to the Sydney Writer's Festival (rather serendipitously) to see Chris's friend Thomas Kohnstamm, who was in Sydney promoting his book Do Travel Writers Go To Hell? Grace's book, The Honey Spinner. Gerhard raps on our door and says it's almost time to leave. Ugh, can't we just sleep in and enjoy the deck again? But we end up having enou...

Thursday, July 31, 2008. 1 I immediately forgot what to do with my feet. Thanks for taking charge, Mr. Instructor Man. 2 Grabbing the steering bar is an apparent no-no, so of course, it's the first thing I go for. 3 We landed in a field full of sheep poop. Lots and lots of sheep poop. Posted by Anne and Chris. Friday, July 11, 2008. Kiwis in the Outback. We leave for New Zealand today for two weeks and will be living in a campervan(!
