Stories about two city mice who moved to the country. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Food & Garden Blog. May 15, 2015. Steve and I are not newbies to splitting wood, needless to say, and we know what works. We need a machine that’s going to perform whether we are splitting a 12-inch round that has been sitting around for two years, or a 14-inch green round from a tree that blew down a few weeks ago. It’s no fun to split green wood but sometimes we have no choice. May 19, 2013. The tu...

Life in the FAST Lane. The Chronicles of a College Student. Laquo; Day Two on the Long and Lonely Road. Day Four: We Don't Wanna Drive Anymore ». Day Three Is Short Lived. Well after three days of driving, we finally hit a wall and decided we needed a rest. Plus we changed over into central time once we crossed into the Texas panhandle, so we lost another hour of time there. So we stopped for the night in Amarillo, TX at a Motel 6 next to the highway. Life in the FAST Lane: Done with week number one...

Life in the FAST Lane. The Chronicles of a College Student. Laquo; New Diggs. A week without fun, then I turned 21. ». Done with week number one. School is getting into full swing here at Poly, as we just finished week one of the ten week quarter. The most complex card game I have ever played, to say the least. Very fun and very competitive. We only played one game but it lasted for hours. Great social fun, as bargaining, bribing and betrayal are key elements to success in the game. WellI like the look!

Recipes, tips, advice and more…it's mostly pretty healthy. Hot weather calls for frappés →. June 27, 2015. The 5-bed garden complex: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, big veggie bed and the new squash/onion bed. Putting them in salads and using them for smoothies. There’s nothing quite like a fresh, ripe strawberry that you just picked out of your own patch. The greenhouse now has a permanent dirt bed. I think the plants love it! So what am I doing with all this bounty? Made a batch today, yum!

Perfect pumpkin pie would be the regular kind made with lots of sugar and nestled in a flaky crust. In my world, pumpkin pie is crustless and made with Stevia. I made two pies this morning for my family’s Thanksgiving celebration, and this evening was the big taste test. They actually turned out okay! November 19, 2012. Laura Weise, a.k&#...

After two months or so I got a tray full of rich, lovely, dark, crumby humus. Success! So I spent much of the winter months moving worms back into the upper trays and airing out the trays. When worms are stressed by their environment they’ll form into big squirmy balls that are every girls nightmare! I do love my peanut sauce. April 20, 2015 at 9:18 am.

Archive for July 2015. Crafting Time at Camp Grandma’s. Posted on July 31, 2015. It’s Summertime here at Camp Grandma and we’ve had a few crafty adventures over the past few weeks I thought I would share today. We’ve been painting, coloring, blowing up lots of balloons, squeezing in some swimming, and eating lots of popsicles and snow cones. It’s been hot and humid here recently, and we all know how popsicles can cool the soul! I will admit that the grand-kiddies had fun blowing up all the balloons, but ...
