Saw Guardians last night with folks. Enjoyed it a great deal, enough that I’ll buy it on DVD. Spoiler (click to open). Mdash; The humor! Not just the snappy lines and obvious jokes, but the way that the movie loved undercutting a dramatic moment just when it was turning bombastic. This is material that can turn to lead if you ...

Back it up - Unifying Contradiction. August 5th, 2012. After having gone through a number of trials and tribulations, I think I finally have the hardware for the Ten Ton Tabulator sorted out. That's the name I finally gave to the 12 TB backup server I bought recently, mainly because its the heaviest computer I've ever owned, and the heaviest that the store has ever sold. The dang thing must weight 50 Kg. 1) Junk or System files that I don't really need or want backed up. August 6th, 2012 03:44 pm (UTC).

Now I just need to find out how much it costs, and round up 21 friends. The CBC is saying that it costs "at least $20,000" to rent for a day, so even just going up for an hour might be pricey. I'll keep investigating. February 5th, 2007. On How To Be Rich and Tacky. The Montreal Island Iced Tea. On Being Well Known. Reported that he and. Europe reall...

Because retro is the new cool. Dec 19th, 2008 @ 04:27 pm. This is sort of the idea I'm heading toward:. Imagine you download and install a small package. It puts a server process on your machine. You launch a text shell. You could have launched any number of competing free graphical shells too, from windowed environments to 3D browsers, but you pick the old original simple text one. The system was last rebooted five years ago. If you don't have a current network link, you won't get updates, but you can s...

Anecdotal evidence says KOffice is slimmer but OpenOffice works better, but it’s very hard to find actual hard numbers on memory and resource usage. And when you do find somebody who’s done a comparison, it invariably dates back to 1995 and it’s totally obsolete. Where Evolution has a commanding. It would be great to have a similar progr...
