An intentional journey in my fortieth year. Monday, July 28, 2014. Rocky Top always brings you home. Last week we loaded up the car, and I do mean loaded, kidnapped our oldest neice and nephew and pointed the car South. We were headed for a whirlwind tour of the hot spots in Tennessee. In true HollySarah fashion we cram packed our schedule, err, I mean vacation. Ok, so yes, there was a schedule. And at times it was tight, I’m not gonna lie. A stop on The Hill, a first for Sweet Sarah, Taylor and Cal.

deliberate.life.spann: Random Thoughts
http://deliberatelifespann.blogspot.com/2014/09/random-thoughts.html
An intentional journey in my fortieth year. Thursday, September 4, 2014. Ok, here we go.in no particular order. 11 Today in the restaurant bathroom a grandmother was cheering on her grandson for peeing in the potty. I think we should all cheer each other on when we are in there. I mean a little "atta girl" every once in a while, might not be a bad thing for the world. D Is the no white after Labor Day rule still in effect? I mean, I would seriously. Makes me cry every time I watch it. It's SO good...

An intentional journey in my fortieth year. Thursday, April 24, 2014. 4 I'm sitting in a car dealership and I'm fascinated by how people are entertaining themselves while waiting. One woman.a COMPLETE art gallery setup. Apparently she's planning on being here through July. A Who watches these daytime shows? I mean really. Do you think tv hosts that have mid-day shows feel like they are the books in the alcove of Barnes and Noble on 82% discount? Socks with flip flops? I'm close to that. 68 I'm still at t...

An intentional journey in my fortieth year. Sunday, June 15, 2014. Dad, seven things I would tell you. That Mercy Me Song, When I Finally Make It Home,. Gets me every time. I'm gonna wrap my arms around my daddy's neck and tell him that I've missed him. And tell him all about the man that i became and hope that it pleased him. There's so much i want to say. There's so much i want you to know. When i finally make it home. When i finally make it home. I say to my dad? And you know what? 1 First, WTH! They ...

An intentional journey in my fortieth year. Monday, December 23, 2013. We would eat. Bacon. Well, bacon and biscuits. Oh, and chocolate gravy. Yes, always chocolate gravy.] Anywho, I miss the days when we would all pile in to my Grandma and Poppy's house, take up every single sleeping space [including the motor home beds] and just BE. Together. Without further adieu, here's the annual video. Spann Family Christmas 2013. Friday, December 6, 2013. The Annual Santa Claus pic. Well, we BELIEVED! I'm guessing...

An intentional journey in my fortieth year. Thursday, September 18, 2014. Yep, you read it right. Jam. As in a derivative of jelly. Out of tomatoes. Not kidding. So stick with me here. Sweet Sarah and I had dinner at our local Peachtree Tavern the other night. And in sweet, southern fashion they were serving seasonal fried green tomatoes. They were heavenly. Cooked perfectly, just like my grandma used to make. But what really put these babies over the top? A dollop of tomato jam. Have you all been as ble...

An intentional journey in my fortieth year. Monday, November 25, 2013. Surprise Date Night-NAILED IT! Sweet Sarah has deemed this one her favorite yet! It's hard to believe anything would surpass The Big Lebowski, but I did it.]. Sweet Sarah joined me for the last half of my week in Vegas. So I thought I planned a fun night out while she was there. We had reservations for dinner at the Eiffel Tower with guaranteed window seating. Our seats were perfect! Front row for the Bellagio Fountains. So here's how...

deliberate.life.spann: She's so much more
http://deliberatelifespann.blogspot.com/2014/09/shes-so-much-more.html
An intentional journey in my fortieth year. Tuesday, September 2, 2014. She's so much more. So today is this beautiful woman's birthday. We were worlds apart. Thank goodness for time.and her grace. Lord, thank you for her grace. She has forgiven and overlooked and forgotten my screw ups more than any one sister should. Now, we are told there's no mistaking.we are sisters! For heaven's sakes, she doesn't pass up an opportunity to make people guess who is older [yes, she often wins]. But let's be clear.

Under the Cassock: The tide always wins
http://underthecassock.blogspot.com/2015/01/words.html
Thursday, January 1, 2015. The tide always wins. It started with one word. Nothing else, just that one word. A man walked around the word, dragging his stick in the sand. Deepening, clarifying, until there was no mistaking it. We watched while we sipped our morning coffee, which eventually turned into breakfast, which eventually turned into afternoon coffee with cards. And he was still there. But now there were more words. Soon, there was another letter. And there were more words. The thought was finishe...

Under the Cassock: October 2014
http://underthecassock.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Mozart - a great way to start any morning. I work from home most Wednesday, although things seem to get scheduled on these days with annoying frequency. In theory, Wednesdays – at least the mornings – are supposed to be all about me. It’s not selfish. It’s survival. At this morning’s brain feeding at the time-sucking trough of Ye Facebook Oracle, I came across 2 articles – this one here. I have struggled mightily with my beliefs and with my faith. Do I believe in God? What a c...
