David Bailey at Taschen Gallery. December 15, 2014. On my way to the David Bailey show at Taschen’s Hollywood gallery, driving from Pasadena along LA’s 1940-era freeway, the first one. Driving along Beverly Boulevard, which appears to be the hot spot of the moment. I made this from the car. The Taschen Gallery, a roomy new art space on Beverly Boulevard. No, this isn’t Bailey. He was the bouncer & once past him, you were in. Supposedly, we needed a ticket, but not true. This is the infamous David Bailey.

Arlington Gardens of Pasadena. May 27, 2015. Arlington Gardens is only a block or two from my home so I visit – and photograph – often. It was almost dark when this one was exposed, resulting in moody blue tones. Macro is my preferred point-of-view. This one always makes me think of fire. End of the day, shallow depth-of-field. There are many poppies at Arlington. Another type of poppy. But, my favorites at Arlington are definitely the various cactus’. This one is my favorite. June 13th, 2016.
