World War II History. Sunday, May 27, 2012. A Special B-17 and Her Crew In 1943. A mid-air collision on February 1, 1943, between a B-17 and a German fighter over the Tunis dock area, became the subject of one of the most famous photographs of World War II. An enemy fighter attacking a 97th Bomb Group formation went out of control, probably with a wounded pilot then continued its crashing descent into the rear of the fuselage of a Fortress named All American, piloted by Lt. Kendrick R. Bragg.

World War II History. Friday, April 30, 2010. Flyboys: A True Story of Courage. By James Bradley, Little-Brown. Ths is the true story of the events in the lives of a handful of very young flyboys (WWII pilots and airmen) in the waning days of WWII in their march toward Japan’s home islands; the prices paid and the lives forever lost or changed. One of those flyboys was a 19 year old future President of the United States, George H. W. Bush. Mr Bradley sympathetically and poignantly describes the small-tow...
