Long overdue conclusion to the SNAP challenge, but considering the state of my employer, I may need to use these money saving skills sooner rather than later. What are my observations? This challenge would be harder in 10 years when my boys hit the Hoover phase of development. To make your money go farther, you must be able to cook. Processed foods are more expensive.

Adventures of a Deep Freeze Diver. Boldly going where I should have gone a few months ago. Day 1, the future is in pork bellies. September 9, 2013. The day started with me throwing in a pork shoulder (.99/lb. on sale) to slow roast the day away. The night before I had rubbed it down with salt and spices and let it rest. I’ll come back to this later. While the pork slow roasted I did laundry, moved furniture around, and set up my new raised garden bed for next spring. I love days when I get things done.
