Jon and Monique

Thursday, March 6, 2014. From Bollywood to Hollywood, Hong Kong to King Kong. We were extremely thankful to arrive in Los Angeles as our journey from the Philippines via Japan had been pretty traumatic – I'll add a post about that at some point. After a long sleep we hit Universal Studios on our first full day in L.A. It was quite fitting that only a few days into our trip we had been in Bollywood. On the way back into L.A. we stopped at the Museum of Contemporary Art. That evening we made our way to the...

Jon and Monique: February 2014

http://www.jonandmonique.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Last stop (in Asia): Hong Kong. Our last stop in Asia [sad face] was Hong Kong. We nearly didn't make it because, although we got to Manilla. Airport earlier than had been recommended, there was a queue for immigration which snaked through half of the airport and took 90 minutes to get through. If only there had been some sort of way for them to know how many people would be boarding planes at what times and staff the airport accordingly! Posted by Jon and Monique. Given tha...

Jon and Monique: September 2013

http://www.jonandmonique.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 27, 2013. It had been photos of Borobudur that had initially got me interested in visiting Indonesia. Borobudur. Is the largest Buddhist monument in the southern hemisphere and the biggest Buddhist stupa in the world. It is also billed as the greatest single piece of classical architecture in Indonesia. It was therefore part of our trip that I was more excited about than many others. As it is only about 35m tall, but each side of the base is around 200m meaning that it covers a huge area.

Jon and Monique: August 2013

http://www.jonandmonique.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 31, 2013. Where all the updates have gone! Sorry there's been a lack of updates in quite some time. It's partly due to a very busy schedule and non-existent internet connections. It's also due to the fact I (i.e. Monique) have been riding out a crazy cocktail of holiday blues, and writing when I'm bummed out would NOT do the lovely Nepal justice. 3 I weighed myself the other day, and although I haven't seen numbers on the scale that low since I was 15, I have never looked worse. I also f...

To the Moon & Back

Friday, December 12, 2014. I blinked and 3 months had passed without me writing your monthly posts. I am ashamed of myself. We've had a LOT going on, but I am making myself sit down and record these precious memories for us to look back on. You are the sweetest, happiest, most lovable baby boy there ever was (well, your brother too! There is almost never a time where a big smile is not plastered across that darling face of yours, and I could just eat you up. Daddy and brother feel the same way! We've sai...

Sunday, May 12, 2013. Here is my lovely card. Haley is still a little hung up on the excitement from Easter, hence the giant rainbow Easter egg in the middle of the picture with a bunny face above. Also, I had to snap a pic of the back, I love how she always signs her name followed by a heart and a check. Even when she does school work. When it was time for Haley's morning swimming lessons, Jon backed the car out of the driveway and I saw this wonderful artwork :). Haley kissing her babies. Here's our li...

Monday, August 24, 2009. Chinese people love dancing in public. This is definitely the conclusion I've come to, as beside the evening dancing in every park in the city, there is a traditional dance outside Carrefour every night:. A number of the larger restaurants and hotels also have group exercises in the mornings, which are fun to watch. I have a video of one of the larger ones down the street from the school, but unfortunately it won't upload at the moment. I leave you with a picture of a restaurant/...

Jon and Monica Woodin. Our times and trials, for your entertainment. Our Handful of Children. Hunter, William, and Wyatt. Monday, May 30, 2011. Water on the Brain. May 30 2011. Memorial Day. Stiles want’s to kneeboard right off the bat. A friend of ours lent us a pile of wetsuits and a few toys for us to use our first time out and she Laughed as she drove away and called us crazy! Next time out should be better and we will get better with practice I am sure. In other news Wyatt is teething! Just for MJ, ...

Monday, January 28, 2013. Moving never comes without its difficulties. I know this, and yet I find myself struggling and wallowing just the same. It isn't that I'm not happy to have moved, or that I wish I were still back in Northern California. Not at all. Southern California is beautiful, and the people are nice, and we are back with Jon, which is worth any growing pains we might experience. And yet. Or just the fact that I've moved away? Sunday, December 2, 2012. Tuesday, June 19, 2012. I was patient ...
