From Russia with Rob: January 2014
http://fromrussiawithrob.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, 23 January 2014. RIP The Moscow News Print Edition. These papers rely on their print edition for keeping reading numbers up and can often be found in cafes, bars and hotels. Russia is all over the news at the moment and the quality of coverage provided by English-language papers based in Russia is second to none. I only hope that The Moscow Times, which I believe belongs to another media group, can keep it's head above water at the moment. The Moscow News closure. Tuesday, 14 January 2014.

You’d have though after a year in Russia I’d be a boss at dealing with this now, but I’m as red-cheeked and blustered as ever…. Some positive news from Russia is that Putin has signed a new law to ease Visa processes for foreign workers heading to he...

So, if not vodka, then what?

Wednesday, 4 September 2013. Putin, Pictures and (GAY) Protests. Last time we looked at why Alexei Navalny is making headlines across the world for taking chunks out of Putin's legitimacy. Le Vodka and Le Vin. Writings on experiences abroad in Russia and France,. A journey to Moscow. You walk in, find your berth, make your bed using the sheets and blankets provided (a little scabby, but clean and warm), snuggle up and enjoy being rocked to sleep as you roll on through the Russian countryside. Ahhhhh. After dumping our stuff at the hostel (which was recommended to us by Jack, and now I recommend to you dear reader http:/ bananashostel.ru/. We headed straight for Red Square. Le Vodka and Le Vin. Writings on experiences abroad in Russia and France,. One hella long week…. But whether it’s been tremors in self-confidence or an acceptance of the limits in place here, on Friday I felt physically drained and psychologically over-whelmed.
