Jots And Dots

Monday, February 7, 2011. Things I will miss. Today was my last day working as a zookeeper intern. Although it will be nice to have my weekends back, there are a few things I will miss:. The smell of acacia in the morning. The morning calls of the birds and monkeys. The roaring of the lions as they greet the new day. That particular soreness between the shoulders that only comes from raking. The cool dark feedhouse that smells like molasses and bread. The eland with their crazy and beautiful eyes. When I...

Jots And Dots: Thoughts on my new tattoo

http://www.jotsanddots.blogspot.com/2010/09/thoughts-on-my-new-tattoo.html

Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Thoughts on my new tattoo. I recently got a new tattoo. I had some thoughts that I would like to put down. First of all, I would like to address the comment that I get most often: “aren’t you worried about being an old woman with wrinkly skin and tattoos? 8221; My answer is no, I am not worried. I don’t care. I am not currently saving myself for when I’m 80. Why should I live today for when I’m an old woman? That is why my fish is breaking out of a net. It symbolizes st...

This is my little guy, trying on glasses in the shop.  After one of his well-checks, the pediatrician recommended that we see a pediatric opthamologist.  This is because "M" crosses his eyes a lot and often one eye will go inwards while the other looks straight.  All babies cross their eyes, so we didn't think much of it.  But then it wasn't going away.  . Tuesday, February 9, 2010. So, I just have to vent about the insanity that was my day today. Then, the 3 kids and I went to smog the van. ($70) "J" and I realized last night that we had to smog the van and that registration was due in two days. So while the van was smogged, I took the kids to McDonalds to eat lunch. ($9) "S" is really thrilled, she got a dinosaur toy in her happy meal. Home again, home again, jiggity-jig. I tallied up things, just because, and turns out I spent $448! Couch potato to 5K.

Jots And Dots: How Low Can You Go?

http://www.jotsanddots.blogspot.com/2010/06/how-low-can-you-go.html

Tuesday, June 29, 2010. How Low Can You Go? I have high blood pressure and some iffy blood glucose numbers left over from my pregnancies. Neither of these were health problems before, I just figure this is my souvenir. That and the impressive and slightly creepy c-section scar). Besides, I'm already doing everything they would tell me to do if I was becoming diabetic. I'm losing weight (25 lbs so far! Exercising a lot and not eating any refined carbs or sugar. Not sure where I could go from that. Waterma...

Tracking Laura and Chris Sheach.and Mr.Jingles. Tuesday, October 12, 2010. So, I wrote this and then forgot to post it.a Northwest update. I'm flying over the English Channel, some twenty hours into my flight to Chad, which puts me just past the half way mark, and definitely in a reflective frame of mind. As I'm not sure when I'll next have an internet connection, I may not be posting for a while, but at least I can play catch up! Don't: be conned into paying too much for something because it's “ne...
